So many different feelings.....
It is absolutely NORMAL to have that wave of emotions right before surgery! I cried the night before just for the fear of the unknown! Even though I DID have my DH's support, I still felt VERY "alone" after surgery. NO ONE ate (well, drinking is all...) like I did after surgery, no one in my family was told "oh, you can't have that" like I was, no one else in my family took like two microscopic sips of something and got a feeling of having a concrete brick in my belly, so I definitely felt "alone" for quite a while. Worst thing I did was climbed into my own shell. Things DO get better, just not overnight. Take ONE DAY AT A TIME. If you don't have a support group yet, find one after surgery. I swear they make SUCH a difference! If you can't find one where you live or just can't get to them, USE THE TMB!!! Everyone on this board who has had surgery has "been there/done that" and we know exactly what you are feeling. When you are having a bad day, it's ok to vent! When you need to ask a simple question, fire away. Of course if you are having a major issue, first and foremost, do NOT be afraid to check with your surgeon!!! They are not just your doctor only while you are on the operating table so they darn well should be there when you need a question answered!
Hang in there!!! Now...do the important things before surgery...get some "pre-op" pictures taken from different angles as well as take all your measurements...arms, legs, waist, bust, hips, etc. When you are melting away and the scale suddenly decides to slow up, that does NOT necessarily mean you've stopped losing. Your body has to play "catch up" so it is VERY common to get a stall about three weeks post op! The body is thinking, "oh man, what are you doing"?!? But, if you take the measurements, you'll see you are losing inches!
Keep us all posted and good luck! You'll do great!!!
