Need Help Plz....

I had my Gastric Bypass last November.  To this day I have lost 100 lbs but my doctor wants me to loose about 30-40 more by the end of November.  At this time I am at a plateau and/or my weight fluctuates within a 5 pound range.

There are so many things that I still have trouble with.  I eat small portions thru the day. By now I had hoped I would be able to eat and make better choices that would keep me full so I didn't need to snack.  To get calories in I am eating things I know are not good for me. I have a lot of trouble with breakfast because I still can't tolerate eggs very well.  The only meat I seem to be able to eat is a little chicken, ground beef in the form of taco meat, sausage patty, and deli meat with crackers and cheese. I don't do well with any form of pasta or rice. Bake potatoes don't agree either.

I eat a lot of salads and stewed vegetables, but that gets old for me!  I turn to chips and junk to fill the voids. I drink tea, flavored water, and coke zero.

I guess what I am looking for is some inspiration and guidance.  Is there anywhere to get ideas for foods that I can try?  Also can you recommend some ideas that are okay for me at breakfast and snack time?

I appreciate your help and look forward to hearing from you all soon!

Sounds like that you may be in a stall and/or starvation mode...........
check out the 5 day pouch test and/or the   Plateau busters ..........

Breakfast:    Try some low sugar Oatmeal.   Quaker makes this.....
Atkins Shakes........Carnation breakfasts ?

Snacks:  Do away with the Crackers.......eat more lean luncheon meats....roll up cheeses in them for protein roll-ups...........I do turkey and cheese,  ham & cheese           you can get chicken slices from the various delis too....

I do Frozen TV dinners too and just eat around the pastas and rice and such........

What about sugar freee puddings, jellos........broths..............

Get some BEEF jerky - chew on that for snacks.............it will give you something to gnaw on for snacks and keep your mouth chewing for  awhile..........I have the same problem......making poor choices...........:(

good luck...............((((((((Huggss)))))))))))))

Breakfast for me is usually protein coffee, a protein drink etc. Protein drinks are a good choice as they help keep you full later in the day.   Later i will have either leftovers from the night before, cottage cheese is a good choice, any cheese etc. Im 3 1/2 years out and eggs are still iffy for me.  Ricotta cheese with splenda and cinnamon, LOW CARB yogurt, etc.
Cut the coke zero. I know.. i have the occasional diet dr p but its not good for me and you are wayyyy to 'new' a post op to pick up the habit again.
Stick to water, flavored water.

www.5daypouchtest.com is good to jumpstart things. THey also have food ideas on there.
The lil packs of tuna are good for lunch, i do the taco meat a lot as well as deli meat with cheese. Go easy on the crackers. I do have spag sauce with the meat sometime, but try to limit the pasta. You started pasta doesnt work for you, all the better.

The thing about chips and crackers - those things chew down to nothing so you can fit a lot more of that in your pouch than say dense protein like chicken or beef.

here are some ideas and sample menus

for snacks, SF puddings - and when you make them add protein powder for the extra protein. SF jello, protein drink etc

I struggled with breakfast for a long time too.  I still have trouble with eggs.  Sometimes I can eat them and sometimes and I can't.  There are two things I eat regularly for breakfast.  One is Greek Yogurt with berries.  It's unsweetened and unflavored, so I add Splenda and vanilla extract.  Sometimes I add a tablespoon of granola or almonds to give it crunch.  The other thing I eat regularly is Canadian Bacon with Cheese.  I just heat the Canadian Bacon in a skillet and after I turn it, I put a chunk of cheese on top and let it melt.

I suggest you check out our Back to Basics thread on this board.  This month it's called "Strict Sabotageless Successful Sisters and the Dude."  In the morning everybody posts what they plan to eat that day and then at the end of they day we post what we actually ate with a recap of calories and nutrition.  I find it helpful to see what others are eating.
