Moving to Dallas - Need friends, support, etc !!

Kitty is too I have a 17 pounder named Ursa Major, he was Ursa Minor as a baby because he looked like a little bear! He grew quickly out of the minor part!!

Oh pah, let me be the first to warn you that the TMB women know how to have a great time and just disguise it as an OH conference. Heck at the RYD conference in May I learned to breath through a body part that men don't even have. Honestly though if you can not find support here in the DFW area then something is amiss for we are a very supportive and active crowd.

Congrats on your engagment and upcoming move. Trust me, you will have NO shortage of friends and chosen family here! Paul is right about the dinners, we have lots of folks! So let us know when you are here next, we love to get together for coffee, tea , whatever :)
IF you happen to be here the weekend before halloween (24th) we have a great halloweenie party planned.  There are some great folks that live in the area you will be moving to, and im sure they will be chiming in soon,

Welcome to Texas you will love it here. I was born and raised here in Ft Worth but went to Tn almost every summer! My Dad lived in Johnson City, Sewanee, and Manchester! It is a beautiful state. Drove it end to end several times a year going back and forth to college.

you will find a wealth of friends and chosen family here on OH. I have been involved with this group for almost 3 yrs and I wish I had known these people all my life! They are understanding, supportive, fun loving and real!!! It is also a widely diverse group which keeps it interesting! LOL!!

Congratulation on your engagement!! Let us know next time you are in the area and as many as we can will get together!

Yes, TN is beautiful.  In Knoxville, where I live, you can see the mountains in the background...and it's wonderful to watch the sunrises/sunsets over the mountains.

I'll be in Tx again the weekend of the 26th, and can get together with you guys anytime!

My Bonus Mom still lives on the farm in Manchester,haven't been there since my Dad died. But I truly love the areqa!! can you post a picture of your face so we will know who we are looking for???Been through Knoxville many many times! Always under construction!LOL!! Loved seeing the World's Fair Grounds but never got to go. That was before your time!! Early 80's I have 10plus years on you!! See ya in a couple of weeks!

Hi Lori!

There are a number of local groups that meet once a month in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and would be a great opportunity to say hi.    One that will be close to you is the "IKEA" group that meets in Frisco (just a hop, skip and jump from Plano).   Watch the boards for postings from this group and send the leader a note.

I haven't made it to their meeting yet, but it's relatively close to where I live.  I'm a little west and north of where you'll be located, but if you find yourself lonely - pm me and we can meet for a snack in Frisco - LOVE an excuse to go over to Stonebriar area (can get into lot's of trouble over there - shopping my friend!!!!)

Welcome and know that you're coming to a great state with lot's of nice folks (from the boards anyway)...  just no wisecracks about how fast we all drive!!!  We may talk slow, but we don't drive that way :)

Okay, so...I'm all about shopping !!  And right now, I need all new clothes for winter, because last winter I was considerably bigger than I am now.  So, sort of on a shopping spree and would love to take you up on that.
