Austin DS Surgeons?

Is anyone here familiar with a Dr. Ganta in Austin TX? or any other surgeons in the Austin area? I had a consult with a Dr. Nicole Basa but her practice does not do the DS, which is a shame I loved hospital and she seemed so nice. So anyone have any suggestions?

I don't think there are currently any Austin area surgeons doing the DS.  You might check with Dr. Tim Faulkenberry.  I believe he has done one or two, but that doesn't make him a DS surgeon.

There are several surgeons in the Southwest Bariatric Clinic.  Dr. Jinnie Bruce did my RNY, and I like her.  I don't know about the other dr. but you can go to their site and look up the drs. and their experience.  They are located on 38 1/2 Street Austin @ Medical Parkway.

Dr. G. is "our man in Austin" for the DS ..    He has several patients on the DS forum ..  They all seem to like him very much, although I think one of them posted some time back that he no longer accepts BC insurance, which seems kinda odd ..   

  I was about to post on the DS forum the question as to  whether there are any DS support groups for the central Texas area.   My group (N Tex DSers),  HayleyHayle's all-girl group in Lewisville (mostly Dr. Stewart patients)) and the goup that meets out of the Houston area are the only ones I know of in Texas.    I would think they could use a group for central Texas, given Dr. G.s patients in the area, as well as several other DS patients that live between Austin and San Antonio.
