OT- Does anyone work for Baker-Hughes?

DH's company, BJ Pipeline Services, was just bought out by Baker-Hughes. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about their insurance.  I know it'll be months before we find out all the nitty gritty and what changes will actually occur but with my surgery soon and the following aftercare, the insurance is foremost in my mind at the moment!

Take a deep breath, I'm sure it will be ok...

I don't, but here are my suggestions..

1.  Find out what the effective date of the merger/sale is...

2.  Put a call into the HR department to see if they know anything about the new insurance.

3.  Put a call into your Doc's office to give them a head's up on what's going on, if nothing else, maybe they can "pad" your current insurance claim to take care of the follow up visits.

Oh, we aren't worried just yet. DH was curious which insurance company they used. They had a big meeting with the HR department as well as everyone from the VP's on down and no one knows anything at this point. Most everyone but the very top of the ladder found out about it like we did this morning... on the news on TV!

I'm seeing the Dr. tomorrow so I'll give them a heads up.

Avis is right.  I did not even have to ask my doc about padding the future visits.  I don't know if it was my insurance or his wording of the billing, but I had no copay for the first year after the surgery.  I guess it went under followup.
