Does anyone have any experience with physicians in the Frisco / Plano area that are sensitive to obese patients? I would prefer a female physician if at all possible.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I love my doctor but he is in Allen, close to 75. His name is Dr. John Lavery and I've been a patient of his for about 12 years. He is very direct, which can be offsetting to some but I have found him to be caring and sincere, which is lacking all too often in the medical field because they just don't have time anymore. His staff is great and while he is my PCP his specialty is also Rhuematology and Arthritis, which I suffered with from being obese for so long. 972-747-0709.
I can't recall her name, but there is a women general practicioner in Plano that I saw 15 years or so ago and she left practice to start a family and when she came back a few years later she had gotten an RNY. I read about her in the Plano profile a zillion years ago. She might be your best bet if you can figure out who she is.
Good luck.

I weighed 313 pounds on December 1, 2008 the day of my RNY surgery and have lost 81%
of my excess body weight to-date. Current as of November 1, 2009

Oh, I guess I should have said Welcome to town. If you are looking for a local support group check out the North Texas group. We meet at Ikea once per month and a couple of other times in the evenings. Here is the link to the page. Debbie T is the leader.
