OT: New Favorite Food

I have discovered a SF brand of bread & butter pickles - can you say YUM???!!!!????!!!!

Wal-Mart sells them and so does Kroger if anyone is interested.

I've always loved pickles anyway, but I really LOVE them on a sandwich.  This brand has 'stackers' in bread n butter - so it makes the whole sandwich taste sweet.  Rocks!!!

Also, Sara Lee has a new bread out that is sliced VERY thin & high in fiber, whole wheat.   It's a good choice for bread and toasts up crunchy - perfect for a sandwich (personally can't do anything doughy or squishy in bread)...

Are those pickles from Mount Olive? I think that's the name...funky green label? I've been buying the bread & butter ones for DH for awhile. I found out about them at WW.

Orowheat also has some thin sandwich rounds. I've also used them for small pizzas. Very good!

Yes Dee, Mt. Olive it is :)

They taste sweet and sometimes I find that I CRAVE sweet - but my body doesn't really care if it's calorie dense, just sweet.  So, I'm always hunting for things to curb the craving without wrecking the diet.   This weekend, the pickles did it for me!

Have you tried the small Sweet Gherkins? Talk about packing a sweet punch in a small package! I've used them mixed with Kosher dills for relish and just as a side with a sandwich.

Dee,

I love those Orowheat thin sandwich rounds.  I hadn't thought about pizza, but that sounds YUMMY!  Thanks for the idea.

Yuck on pickles.

I use Pepperidge Farm Very Thin bread. It comes in white and wheat, but can be hard to find. I actually have better luck finding it at Target than Kroger or HEB.

They also have a sweet relish that is made with splenda. I love the sugar free line from Mt. Olive.

I also love those Mt. Olive Splenda pickles---(look for the blue band on the label). I buy the stackers and the relish. Great for when you want something sweet but guiltless!!
