August Adventure-Sunday

Only 2 days left to the month...so how WAS your August Adventure?  For me this past week is the most focused I've been since February and it's been awesome.  I can't wait to weigh tomorrow.  Life without a scale has been tough but certainly doable.  Even giving up the daily Diet Coke hasn't been a big deal after the second day.  The "junk food" cravings have left me as well.  I guess the biggest problem I have is boredom with what I'm eating.  Since I don't eat veggies, it's hard for me to find side dishes to eat with my protein.  I used to always eat potatoes or pasta and I've really tried to stay away from that.  I'm so looking forward to the "September Success" month or whatever we decide to call it.

Anyway, plan for today is up in arms.  I'm going to have a Western Bagel (the healthy bagel) with peanut butter for breakfast cuz I need a break from protein drinks.  I have Annette's shower today so not sure what I'll be eating.  I have leftover steak and chicken at the house for the other meal so I've got good protein choices available.

Stick to good choices-the weekend is not the time to cheat.

Oops...you must have submitted about the time I started typing!

Okay...our Adventure continues for today and tomorrow and then on to "Splurgeless In September"...I think we've had a great start to be splurgeless.

Fast Food is not our friend nor is carb filled snacks: cookies, cake, Taco Bell type food, chips, if you've splurged more than ONCE a week on a combination of this...throw it out or don't get it next week.  Everybody's gonna eat something every once in a while but once a day don't cut it gals!  Put down the items w/ sugar, fat, tortillas, etc.  If you're making it homemade, you can choose low carb/low fat options...that's NOT what the restaurants are doing!  We have to buckle down...

Today's plan:
protein coffee...already downed
Atkins protein shake
Water and other water based liquids: 100+ oz.
SF decaf Skinny Cinn. Dolce Latte...don't live by a SB and am going through one in Huntsville this morning
Eating out lunch...will choose wisely.  Ben's picking restaurant
Either stuffed eggplant or Chinese chicken Salad for dinner

Karla

OH yeah...Scale down one more lb. today...-6 total since Monday...keep thinking before I climb on that it will stay the same or go up...I'm a happy camper rt. now!  I did ride my bike 30 minutes today to counteract SB and lunch since I can't control the cooking of the lunch!

Awesome job-I can't even imagine losing 6 lbs in one week.  That's how much I was losing back when I first had my surgery.  I'll be happy with 2 lbs (but I secretly want 4). Woohoo for you!!!  Now if that ain't motivation what is?

GOODMORNING !!

Well - I haven't jumped on board much this month on this thread - but as I am doing the B2B - I've really noticed a change in my pouch....the tightness may be back - now if I just pay attention to it and abide by its ruling me................I'll be just fine..........So far - I'm down 10 lbs from LAST SATURDAY !!   Imagine getting back to basics and refocusing................now theres a plan in itself !!  lol

Here is my plan for today...................

Vits are in this morning  1 Chocolate Atins shake - already down the hatch....
B - not sure yet................if I've had the shake....does that mean I shouldn't eat?  Maybe that is why I'm having so many extra calories?

** Starbucks..........Venti green tea...............2 of em.........I get them unsweetend and add Sweet
N Low...........  which  = 64 oz...of my 100 for the day.....These things are my fluids for the day......I can't stand anything else nowadays.

   Snack.........unfortunately - I don't have many things "planned" today....errands, housework....finish the laundry..............sweep and mop the floor.........OH -  off track here...lol

LUnch:  PRobably something in the way of chicken................gonna go visit a friend at 2pm - gonna take him/her lunch.......I'm thinking FRIED chicken.....to surprise that person....yummy - I'll be gentle and probably take me something else..........may Boston Market - that would be healthier for me.................and for that person too

Snack:  peanut butter, carrots..........and/or another Atkins Shake (in car while commuting )

Dinner:   Oven baked chicken.......Amanda is cooking..............and a veggie..................

GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY !!  (((((((((hUGGSS))))))))

Phyllis, I definately count my protein drink as breakfast.  I don't eat anything else until lunchtime but if I'm just needing something, I'll have some raw veggies for the crunch around 10 am.

Skip the "fried" chicken and go with Rotiserie chicken and take the skin off.  Much healthier alternative.

I didn't weigh this morning and have already had my first cup of coffee.  I'm pretty angry at being a woman today.  I'm just tired of dealing with multiple TOMs, it sucks so I don't want to let the scale dictate my success in the B2Bs plan.  I feel bloated so I'm thinking the scale will be up some.

I'm calling my OB/GYN tomorrow.  I had the cryoablation in March and it took almost two months before it appeared things were "settling down".  June and July were amazing, no cycle and no cramping.  Well lo and behold August 11th (while on vacation) my period decided to appear and yesterday, just 17 days later here I sit again.  I ain't a happy camper.  I'm going to be adamant the we go with a hysterectomy when I go see my doc.  There is one little twist though......no surgery until after September 25th, a girl has priorities and I am GOING to see my PEEPS.

We're going to mass in a little bit, then I'm going to Kroger to get a roast to cook in the crock pot.  I'm also going to grill some chicken today, cook a couple of veggies and be prepared for the week.

Thanks to all of you for doing this, the control I was needing is back.

Hugs,

Dana I had my cryboblation about 1 month prior to my WLS......talk about body being mixed up....
It took several months........almost a year for mine to settle down.  While although I still have a monthly cycle..................it is heavy for my 1st day and then really like GONE in 3days......

Just be patient......I believe that only 2 months...may not be loo ng enough to owait.......unfortuneately.............my OBGYN still has me on "hold" even to see if my hormones are out of wack from PMS'g stuff - vs - age and/or weight loss........grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

good luck

Thanks Phyllis!  It's been 5 months and my doc did say "give it a couple of months".  I've had female problems since I was a teenager, two lap surgeries, bad pap smears, lots of emotions and pre-cancer.  I don't want to wait it out any longer.......I'm not having any more babies so why take the chance of ending up with cervical cancer.  It doesn't make sense to me.

She (my ob/gyn) did tell me the next step was a hysterectomy.  I'm going to demand it.  My mom, all of her sisters and my grand mother along with 3 cousins all ended up with hysterectomies before they were 40.  My older sister and I are the two that remain without hysterecotomies and lots of female issues, it's not fair, lol.

Like I told you yesterday, a hyst is the only way to go.  Probably can do it vaginally and it would only require one overnight stay and you'd be back on your feet in no time.

Drink lots of water today and flush out your system.  We want that scale to show positive results tomorrow. (after my popcorn yesterday, that's exactly what I'm gonna do).

Okay, gotta post fast here.. church is awaiting.

Karla makes an excellent point... stay away from the fast food.. take the time for YOURSELF to cook it at home!  Fried food is 'of the devil' as my old pal, Peter would say.

So how about for September, in addition to the conference challenge, we add the Stay AWAY from Fast Food (Restaurants included) .  The challenge would be taking to time to get prepared and ready so you can stay focused.  I do it most times and IT IS HARD. But we are worth it.. right???

Think about it.. and remember, FRIED is the devil!
