August Adventure Friday
Becky, I concur with Stephanie. I know how you feel because I get in the mentality that yikes it's carbs but we BOTH know we need carbs are we'll get brain stupid, we can't think without any carbs.
So like you, I'm going to do more research on carbs......try to get in the mind set that the fruit and veggies are good for us. You can do it and so can I.

Dana,
Lets try and find out more about complex carbs. I know that we can deduct fiber from the overall carb count and have a better result.
Guess I need to figure out how many carbs I should include in my day.
Don't EVEN get me started on drinking liquids WITH calories! lol

Dear fellow Adventurers,
Before I list today's plan, I just want to tell you all how great this has been for me. First of all, it's so good to know you're all having a similar experience in trying to keep the weight down. Second, this adventure has led me to log my food daily. I have only done that once or twice in my life. This has made me so much more aware of what I eat. And, third, the end of the day reporting that we've been doing has really made me more conscious when I make a decision to eat something or not to eat something. My doctor's plan didn't really call for counting calories or carbs, just for a specific plan which was not realistic for me to stick to forever. This is so much better. I am making so much better choices -- more salads, more vegetables, fewer breads and crackers. Thanks to all of you for doing this and especially thanks to Becky for getting me started and reminding me during the day to stick with it.
Here's today's plan whi*****ludes what I think I will have for dinner. But we're going out to eat, so it really depends on where we go.
Coffee
B - Canadian bacon & cheese
L - Spinach salad, cucumbers, red peppers and 2 oz. of flank steak
S - Celery sticks with 1 wedge of light garlic and herb cheese
D - Salad with oil & vinegar, boiled shrimp, green beans, SF Jello
This gives me a planned intake of only around 800 calories and 26 carbs, which means I have room to play around with dinner a little bit depending on where we go.
Happy Friday to everyone. Go out and make it a great day.
