Good Morning Karla & TMB
Congrats Karla! I will be lucky at Monday a.m. weigh in not to have gained. I got off track a little yesterday. I could not resist the lima beans and cornbread. I am happy to report that I had 70 ounces of water!!! This is a major NSV for me! This weekend will be a tough weekend because my BF and two of his friends birthday bash. I already bought the RTD daiquiri’s on this past Monday. I will try to limit the bad foods.
Today’s plan:
B-coffee now…eggs later
L-Salad
D-IDK yet
Water- at least 36 ounces (let me try this again and see if it works today)
People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown
I sure hope stress really isn't a factor in retaining weight cuz I'll be 340 again soon if it is.
I am doing well with my eating and haven't even touched a white carb. Wonder how long that will last. Not sure how to incorporporate the bread, pitas and muffins back in with out disaster. I'm just doing it like my atkins days with making a sandwich 'bunless' or breadless' It's not bad at all really. Not getting enough food I don't think but I will research that this weekend.
About 1000 calories, 110 protein and well over 100 oz water. Carbs about 45 so that's very good for me.

OMG I weighed this morning, I'm in heaven lmao. Last Monday,August 17 I weighed *cough*cough* 141.8.....this morning without a potty trip I was at 135.0 so 6.8 lbs in less than 2 weeks, woot woot; I'm pumped my challenge is working.
THANKS to all of you for doing this as a group, for some reason I can work my plan better when I know I'm not alone. The accountability to each of you means allot.
Hugs,
Today's Plan:
Iced Coffee right now
Turkey Pepperoni
Lean Steak
2% Moz Cheese Stick
deli turkey meat
small Clementine orange
dinner???? I'm cooking the Chicken Charred Tomatoes & Broccoli Salad I think when I get home.

I just LOVE reading everyone's posts about how we're ROCKING this challenge. I remember when we did it last January and how successful we all were then we just kinda slacked off until now. We didn't do "bad" in the months previous we just didn't succeed like we wanted to. Now it seems like we have the motivation going BIG TIME and we are gonna do it agin. Yay for US!!
Karla-4 lbs in 4 days in incredible you are doing fantastic.
Becky-I think 1000-1200 calories is perfect for you. Doing the Adkins thing is just what you need but I'm MOST proud of you for staying away from the scale. It's harder than I thought. This morning I thought "Becky will never know if I just step on real quick"...darn devil tempting me!! But I DIDN"T. Can't wait til Monday though~it sure better show a drop.
Dana~honey one little cookie means nothing. Get back on that horse and ride!! You are REALLY kicking butt in this challenge and I'm just thrilled for you.
Faith~it time to believe in yourself-you CAN do this. Party or not you make the decision to put in your mouth what you can eat. So try to plan accordingly and eat those foods that are good for you. You are doing so well with that band, don't let that pretty little head of yours win. Now go enjoy that party and have fun.
As for ME: I've done so much better than I ever thought I would. My biggest challenge is not about losing weight, it's about getting back to HEALTHY eating. So far I have not had any "junk food" (candy, cookies, chips, ice cream) or any Diet Coke since Sunday. For me that is HUGE. I've kept my calories between 850-1200 all week so HOPEFULLY the Scale Gods will be nice and offer me a tiny reward come Monday. Ultimately I'd like to lose another 10 lbs but even if I don't I know I feel better when I eat right.
OK- plan for today:
Breakfast: protein drink
Lunch: chicken salad
Dinner: grilled chicken breast, corn on the cobb
HANG IN THERE-WE CAN and WILL DO THIS!!!!

We have to be accountable some how. That scale biotch is killing me, she just stares and stares. And since I am a horrible worrier, my thought endlessly is.. come Monday, there will be nothing, or not enough. I have to process that this weekend somehow as well and come up with a estimated weekly goal and see how close I got. We have 33 plus days so I have to divy it up. I WANT 11 gone. But that's 2 pounds less than I have ever seen.
My other issue is my catholic complex with carbs - any carbs! Sorry, but it's a tremendous guilt factor. I could NEVER ever consider even corn an okay thing. I will eat it, but the GUILT, OY! I had peas the other day and it 'hurt' to put it on my daily plate because it's so 'CARBY'. Stupid I know, but it's been so ingrained in me. Heaven help I ever consider fruits and their sugar. Fruits can be good for ya, but oh the guilt.
I need to really process all of this and learn to slowing incorporate bits and pieces of it back into my menu. Yeah, I know, therapy time!

Becky this weekend your "homework" is to research complex carbs vs simple carbs and to read WHY they're important to your overall health. We all NEED protein, fats and CARBS. Sometimes we get so caught up in the "NO carb" thing, we forget that there are GOOD carbs. Moderation is the key to living a happy healthy life so that should be our goal.
Even if you never lose another pound, you are an incredible success to me. LOOK at where you came from-my word woman, put one of your before pictures on your refridge and SMILE every time you see her and know that you have done something very few people have accomplished!!
Personally, I'll be happy if I lose 1-2 lbs a week through this challenge. And if I don't it's OK cuz I'm doing what's right and feels good.

I have never been a moderation girl even though i'm Lutheran. lol. It's the thought ingrained in me since 6 years old of good food, bad food. All carb/no carb..
It's all just a matter of relearning and being open to things I never imagined doing. And I know I can. My goodness, who'd of thunk I'd have been a cougar! just sayin..
love you.. and Clay too!
