XPost - 2 Year Surgiversary, WOOHOO & Labs-Slow Losers Unite!
To start with, I've lost a LOT of weight in 2 years and the best part - still losing!!!!
Today was my 2 year follow up and I was worried about iron levels. Good news on all fronts, but hemoglobin is a little low. From what I've been told that's not uncommon for a woman of reproductive bearing age
Best news I've had - my surgeon was very pleased that I managed to lose a significant amount of weight during my 2nd year after surgery. He said it's uncommon to see this happen.
Now, at 1 year post op, I felt like a failure by not being anywhere near my goals... Today, just over 2 years later, I'm 4 lbs. from goal.
So, let that be a lesson to those who worry and wonder IF they can or WILL continue to lose weight... You have to work for it, some of us harder than others, but all I've done is eat right and work out - letting my tool (RNY) work for me.
Don't let anyone tell you that you can't reach your goals once you're past the 'honeymoon' phase of surgery - it's hogwash!!! You can, but you have to work for it.

Congratulations Lisa! I agree it's a tool and some people have to work it harder than others, longer than others. Some people lose fast, others bust their tails to get there. As long as we work it and continue to work it, bearing no malfunctions, this tool is a gem.
