Good afternoon all.  Figured I would start early and maybe generate some activity.

My day is getting ready to begin.  Got some decent sleep.  Got new sneakers in the mail today.  Can't get good ones at the store.  Something about "Show me what you have in size 14" that gets me nothing but blank stares.  So I will see how these work out today.

Going to work.  Gonna get to watch some Little League baseball on my TV while I work.  Life is good.

Phyllis - hang in there.  Let me know when you get your phone going.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Anonymous prayers for the friend of a TMBer, who is very troubled at this time.  I have been in touch with the TMBer and prayers are still needed.

Prayer requests are listed below.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT:

Anne and her spouse
Jennifer - (Cruise Director Julie) - still interviewing
Jen Ewald - hoping for a traveling position to open up shortly
Jeri
Lalocaweta and spouse
Stephanie and her friend Mack
Vicki V.

Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming

Upcoming Surgeries:

Recovering from Surgery:

Christopher J - had his RNY on 7/21.  He is recovering, but had a stricture.  It was repaired on 8/14, now the recovery from that surgery moves on.

Dana's sister Renee is recovering from two surgeries.  Her skin graft on her leg is not healing properly.

Janet (1divaatheart) spouse recovering from kidney surgery.

Karen (Misty750342002) - Pray for her spouse as he as recovers from his eye surgery in an attempt to save his eyesight.

Other prayer requests:

Jenn Ewald asks prayers that her financial situation improves so she does not lose her house.

Meggie - friend Nancy is in assisted living home and is on her last days.  Pray for Meggie's family also as they try to fight through this.

Vanessa (ButterflyReborn) asks for prayers for her family.

Vanessa also asked for a request for continued prayer for The Dunford Family and all of their friends, doctors, nurses, medical staff, and even all of the people that have never met Elizabeth or the Dunford's but have prayed for and/or have been affected by their story.  Elizabeth's pain is over but the real, deep pain has yet to begin - especially for Michelle.

Below is one of God's children that definitely need our prayers.  This is one specific cases, we know there are others out there.  Remember them too.

Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2. She has improved, but still needs our prayers.  Pray for this brave little girl

Howdy all...
Kids' first day went pretty good.  No huge issues that I heard about from the girls!  As soon as they got home, they were yappin' machines!  Too funny.  Now tonight is "sign my life away" night for moms and dad's (sheeeesh, the paperwork...) as well as "write a bunch of checks" night!  Each kiddo has a list of things I have to write checks for so have to do that before each one goes to bed.

Ok, I'll check back in a bit...the two older girls are in a bit of a "tiff" so need to go figure out what's going on....

George,

Thank you again for including me in the TMB prayer list. All went well and continues to seem that way. Please remove my name to make room for those with upcoming surgeries or other prayer concerns.  I will continue to pray for our OH family and I'm so very grateful for you and all you do.

Be Blessed,

Nannette

Evening George,

Good day here.  DD made it to the bus stop in time, and had a pretty good first day at school, I only heard about one "mean" teacher.  I got through all of the "sign you life away" sheets and am so thankful I only have one to do this for.  So far no $$$ requests, but know that is probably short lived!  Something about a graphic calculator that's she's going to need for Algebra, just don't know when, and I'm not going to worry about it tonight.

Anyway, going to go hit the pillows.  I hope everyone has had a blessed day and tomorrow be doubly blessed.  Keep your heart and mind open, you might be surprised at what happens!

Prayers for all of the spoken and unspoken requests.  Special prayers for all that are hurting tonight.  Continued prayers for Elizabeth Grace's family.

Nanette, so awesome to hear that you are doing well!

Blessings to all,
Avis

Try signing all that crapola for three kiddos.  Geez, makes your head spin!  Of course, hubby only had to sign THREE stupid pieces of paper, all the same thing from the student handbook that both parents have to sign (attendance stuff - stating you know they have to go every day...duh...) and after the second one, he starts whining.  I kindly walked over to him, showed him the STACK of crap I had filled out and just said "SHUT UP AND SIGN THE D*#M THING" while looking over the top of my glasses!  Then I got the ever so popular (but stupid) reply of "WHAAAAT"?  Idiot.  I swear.  I got away with three checks and then two of them needed cash for planners that are required and a vocab book that of course is required.  I absolutely HATE it when they are supposed to have cash.  UUUUGH!  Luckily the 2nd grader is only toting in $3.00 and it's inside an envelope which that is then inside the entire folder of signed stuff, but the other one needed $10 for her 9th grade vocab book.

You mentioned that graphing calculator....it's a lovely kick in the head at a little over $100 but they do use it.  Heather, my oldest, needed it last year and again this year.  The 9th grader will be using it too.  Now, THAT calculator stays at home.  The teachers do have them but they don't leave the classroom.  We'll definitely get our money out if it with two kids using it.   I did see one I believe in the Office Depot add that was a tad under $90 which is great.  Might want to check into that one.  Most of the time they are around $110 to $120.  UUUUUGH, I know!!!  Just make sure she leaves it at home because kids that take them to school get them stolen.  Those other kids know just exactly how much they are so I have told my kids, "if you EEEEVER take that thing out of here and it gets stolen, YOU will rebuy one".

Get some good sleep!
