I'm doing well after my revision
Woooohooooo....other than trying to prop myself up for hours on my right elbow because my hiney was getting numb laying in bed so now my elbow hurts,,,I am doing great. Absolutely no pain. A little tenderness when I cough at the site where my central line was put in....that's it. No pain meds since yesterday morning.
Everything went well. I hade to have a central line put in after 5 IV attempts. They were able to get a tiny vein and got a temporay IV started. This was so they could knock me out. lol When I came to, I had the central line, 1 jp drain, 2 lines for my morphine pump....wooooohoooo and 5 tiny incisions he used to complete the correction of the jejunal diveticulum and my revision. I'm feeling a ton better, not any lighter though because I had to have numerous bags of fluid because I was dry as a bone. My output (urine) was really low, but I went 2 days without ice chips, water or anything, not to mention I was up 2 hours after surgery walking, and I walked every other hour without fail while I was in the hospital.
I'll post more later on. I go to Dr. A. on Tuesday. But he did tell me to disregard with the dietician told and to do only clear liquids for the first 3 weeks. But the hospital considers diluted apple juice and cranberry juice as clear. I never knew I like Apple juice but it was yummy. All 2 ozs of it....lol Oh and my friend J.P. Drain did not come home with me....although it was ouchy when they removed it.
Everyone be blessed.

Wow I am so glad that you detailed this for me considering my revision is in 10 days.
I was just searching on here for some info like what you posted.
I have tiny veins too so I am wondering if they will have to do a central line on me like they did the first time I had my RNY in 2002.
I was told that I would go home with my drain.
I see you got lucky and got to leave yours at the hospital.
Glad you are home and doing well.
Do not forget to contact me on Tuesday and let me know what he says.

I'm so glad to hear you're doing well. My revision was the best decision I ever made. Luckily I didn't need either a central line or a JP drain but in my opinion whatever it takes to get the job done so my hat's off to you. Keep the faith and let us know how we can help.
