Back to Basics Monday-who wants to join me?
My plan is this:
1) Prepare my eating for the day, make sure I have 80 grams of protein minimum.
2) Drink, drink, drink water or crystal light.....80 oz.
3) Read the Beck Diet Solution.
4) Be accountable to myself and others.
I don't believe I'm alone when I say if I'm doing this with others I do better. It's like I'm in denial what I eat if I do it alone, almost like I can't be honest with myself. Crazy me!
Positive of just a few days last week....scale is down 4 1/2 lbs and I'm not wanting to graze. I actually will have to force myself to snack or drink a shake to intake enough protein.
Becky, my goal is to stay this way until the OH Conference also. I MUST lose 6 1/2 more lbs, my goal is to lose 9 lbs which gets me in my 127 lb range that I'm most comfortable with.

Yea Dana, you're paving the way for the rest of us. Look how good you did in only ONE WEEK. I'm very proud of you.
We might need to have a "book club" discussion on the Beck Diet Solution as we go through each week. I've only read a few pages so far but it seems motivating and helpful.
I have a couple of "tricks" that I use along the same lines as the book. One of my favorite phrases is "I know what it tastes like." I TRY to remember that when someone offers me something I shouldn't eat. Meaning "I know what it tastes like so I really don't need to try it again". My other one is 5 minutes after you've swallowed the "forbidden food", it no longer makes you feel good and you can't even remember the taste but the effects last forever.
OK, it's WAY too early for any further pearls of wisdom. I'm so glad we have a good turnout of people wanting to do this. There's STRENGTH in numbers.

So here is my plan:
1. Start using the new food tracker here at OH.
2. get in at least 64oz of water and take my vitamins.
3. Registering tomorrow night with my trainer for pilates. Will start 2 days of pilates on the reformer and 2 days of cardio at the gym. (Tues./Thurs./Sat./Sun.)
4. Focus on protein.
5. Post to the August Adventure at least several times a week.
*** As far as the scale goes.... not ready to put it away just yet. I still need that daily accountability. Once I get back to my pre PS weight I will start weaning myself off of it. I also took a huge step and readjusted my ticker to show my weight gain.... Damn that was HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STEPH-I like to think I'm already "on board", but can sure use MORE fine tuning, and always NEED to know I'm not the only one wondering "Why is this so damn hard sometimes..most times...all the time..."I just know I'm such a "grazer" and a "snatch and grab" eater....and I hate that about myself...but I don't hate ME, if that makes any sense...
A little of MY oh so humble opinion of "The Beck Solution"...it's not an "easy read"...you have to be dedicated to WORKING it...get those index cards and post it notes ready...It has taken me MONTHS to be hoest with myself and get thru what is supposed to take 15 DAYS to get thru (but Dr Beck emphasizes that's absolutely okay and GOOD to take it at your own pace, cuz it means it will STICK for life)..
Okay...my thoughts on the scale....if it makes YOU crazy: weight once a week and put the thing away.....If if keeps you on track and doesn't make you cry, the keep it out...Everyone is different. MY ***** in the box does not rule my life as much I SHOULD let her...But I know some of my peeps who nearly get suicidal if the scale shows a 6 ounce flucuation...I don't want them to live like that-they stay miserable. We all KNOW our bodies go thru changes and that the "numbers" are not always going to be accurate. But KNOWING something in our BRAINS, doesn't always make us feel better in our HEARTS, I know...
Okay..all that on ONE cup of coffee....CRAP...need a refill...

Gina, YOU should be the one leading this thing. You're my hero for the INCREDIBLE job you've done losing your "regain" weight. And you've done it so humbly and quietly. Girl I'd be shouting from the rooftops..."ANOTHER 5 LBS GONE" but I know that's not your style. BUT I also know that you have tips and tricks that we all can use to help and your opinion is so valuable to all of us.
Thanks for "weighing in" on the Beck Solution. See I haven't even read enough to know what it's all about. BUT I've got my index cards and I'm ready to do the work. After all I AM A FOOD ADDICT as I so honestly told the whole metroplex last week on TV.
If you've finsished that cup of coffee and have thought of any more "pearls of wisdom", come on back and chat a while. (Plus tell me again the name of the "red pill" from GNC- I need a boost and don't drink caffeine).

STEPH..lol..it's they are "Redline" brand caps..and they are actually white with a red line on them. You have to ask for them..like a junkie from a dealer-they are kept "behind the counter" at every GNC I've ever been to. You can get the liquid anywhere, bu the caps I've only been able to "score" at GNC and on ebay. I SWEAR by the things, but I don't have a problem with high B/P, etc, and don't get heart flutters or any of that stuff.
I don't know about "pearls of wisdom"...maybe have had lots lots of very HARD knocks and done lots of stupid things with the blessing I have been given...I'll be the chapter of the book of WLS entitled "What NOT to do most of the time"..ya know???
I love you for doing this. I bet there are lots of lurkers who need it too. Not everyone is able to come forth and put it all out there, like we do...Some people are even shy (weird-huh???)
