Happy Saturday - 10 days left

Good morning all of my Gorgeous and Handsome Ladies and Gentlemen.

Rise and shine world another day awaits us.

I am anxious to see what is ahead 4 today.

I am in a surprisingly amazing mood for someone who is so hungry she could chew through a plastic banana right now.

I have 9 more days left on the 1200 calorie liquid diet (I get to eat one real meal a day at least and the other two have to be all liquids- not sure why they call it liquid. It should be called 50/50. LMAO) and then the day before surgery I get the fancy smancy all clear liquid diet.

I am anxious to see what is ahead 4 today.

I have lots of planning to do.

I have to go and buy the things I am going to need for my first few weeks post op as I am single and I live alone.

I also need to arrange for who is going to watch my Chihuahua son Nico while I am in the hospital.

I have to make my checklist for what I need to take to the hospital with me.

I have to go and get the Scopolamine patch prescription filled and wear the patch the night before surgery.

My doctor said that it is suppose to help with nausea.

Since I have not had surgery since 2002 I have never heard of this.

Have any of you ever had this Scopolamine patch?

hey teena,
i have used the patch when i go on cruises lol.  never for surgery tho. It works WONDERS for me on cruises. I get horribly car sick, air sick blah blah you get the drift.. and i slap one of those on the back of my neck before we leave and im good to go. Nice thing is, its lasts a few days. It will leave you horribly dry mouth the 1st day tho, so be prepared. I hope it helps you for your surgery.  I see you are near goal, May i ask why the revision? Feel free to tell me none of you business

I hope the patch works for me the way it did for you.

I hate being nauseous.

Do you remember if it was generic or Tier III meds and hella expensive?

The reason for the revision is due to a gasro gastric fistula (hole between the new and old pouch) that cause some weight gain and for me that is a NO NO.

Scopolimine is the generic.. so you should be all good. When i used it, there was no generic for it and it was hella expensive lol.  Trans Derm Scop is the name brand.
Thanks for answering, I dont blame you for taking charge of this. Glad you are able to do so! Good luck and keep us posted. BTW i remember you from when you had your surgery before (i was wayyyyyyyyyy pre op and fighing the insurance like helll!)

I would also have the doc have a standing order for some zofran to shove in that IV as well, just in case!

I requested the patch from my doc because I have such a horrible time with anesthesia every time.  It worked fantastically for me!!!  Woo hoo!  I made a promise to myself to NEVER have anything done again without one if I can help it.  Just a little medicated band aid looking thing you stick on your neck behind your ear.  I would love to try one on a cruise since I got so badly seasick on an AIRCRAFT CARRIER once!  I don't do well on docks either. LOL!

I hope all goes smoothly and you remember the always important SIP SIP SIP, WALK WALK WALK, and use your heating pad where ever the pain travels to to help dissipate the gas!  GLGLGL!


If I remember right, the patch was cheap which was a pleasant surprise.

Thank you very much for your post op advice.

I never really have a huge issue pain wise and issues with gas are always minor.

I am somewhat of a freak of nature as far as both of those things go.

I do however have issues with nausea so this patch may be a Godsend.

Teena, congrats!!! Not much longer? Are you nervous? I know this isn't your first rodeo...but I know how nervous I was before my surgery!!!

Looks like we have the same surgeon. I LOOOOOOOOVE Dr. Nick!!!

Like they all said...the patch is inexpensive and no biggie. But unlike the other posters, I didn't have the dry mouth or even notice ANY difference when I was wearing it...this is standard procedure for Dr. Nick to prescribe that....they emphasized I not forget to wear it.

I am not nervous at all.

I am just hella ready.

Yes, we do have the same surgeon and I love love love Dr. Nick as he ROCKS!!!

It is good to hear that you did not get the dry mouth.

I am hoping that I do not get it either.

I have added you as a friend since we have the same doc and thought it would be cool to keep in touch.
