RNY card from Dr. Garth?

Someone told me that some surgeons offer a card that you can use at resteraunts that will sometimes get the restaraunt to give you a smaller portion and charge you a smaller price. Or they allow you to pick off the kids menu.  Has anyone ever heard of this?  If so, does anyone know if Dr Garth Davis's Office offers this?   I will ask my PA at my preop visit.   But thought I would ask if anyone has one.  Or what it might be called so I dont go in there asking for the RNY card thingy.

I got mine off of this site and printed it out and laminated it, so I don't know if the Davis' have a card or not - probably.  I have never used mine since I just pick off my husband's plate when we go out to eat.  The portions are so big these days that when I take my portion off his plate it doesn't look like there is any missing!

I couldn't find the link to the card on this site, but maybe someone else has it.

That is what I was planning to do too.   Pick off my hubbies plate.   But some times he orders something I dont care that much for.... or I wont be able to handle ( like Lasagna)..... so.... I will sometimes need to buy my own.

Yeah, sometimes I just order me a small side salad if hubbie's dinner isn't appropriate for me.  The problem with ordering a child's plate is at most restaurants it is something unhealthy lke chicken nuggets or hot dogs.  I carry my card in case I need it so it is good to have.

We ate at Cici's yesterday and I just paid full price since it is cheap and I figure I got my money's worth pre-op and owe them back a little LOL.  I had a small salad and scraped the tops off a couple of pieces of pizza.  Haven't been back to any other buffet though because it just isn't worth the money - small price to pay for being 98 pounds thinner!

Yeah.   I know about the nutritional aspect of childs menu.   But some places actually do have a decent childs menu.   I was more thinking of asking if I could order off of the lunch menu if I do go out.   Since they tend to give you smaller portions and charge a little less.

My nutritionist has it printed on the back of his cards.  It allows me to eat off the child's menu or order child size portions.  Ask the receptionist, they should be able to give you the info you need.

Have a good day,

Most children's menus are things you shouldn't or can't eat anyway. Better to share or order off the appetizer menu, or get soup. Remember, you can make a whole meal off what someone else would eat BEFORE their meal. Or, you can order a meal and take home leftovers.

Agree with a lot of others - definitely stay away from those kids meals as sadly they are usually fried or full of fat!  I will share with my hubby, or, another option is to see if they will let you order just a single side chicken breast or piece of fish, etc.  I usually don't have any problem doing that.  Most of the time they charge me anywhere from $2.00-$5.00 depending upon what it is which is fine by me!

Cracker Barrel has a children's menu "for children of all ages" with some healthy choices.  Their grilled chicken tenders are super moist and delicious.  I always get the kids plate with grilled chicken and green beans.  YUM!
