This is from the RNY board - the title of the post is Dear Pre Ops & Post Ops - Behavior Change Plan
Hey Everyone Happy Friday

As I continue to go through my "blue bag" the things I am finding and reading is a reminder for me as well as sharing with you.

Trust me, Behavior Change is Paramount to losing weight and keeping it off.    Learn behavorial changes, practice them "every" day or you will fall back into bad habits and the scale will creep back up.

Behavior Change Plan

Changing behaviors takes time and effort.  Keep your long-term goals in sight and don't expect immediate results.  Use your Behavior Change Plan to problem solve.

1.)  Identify and Record One or Two Eating/Activity Behaviors you want to change

2.)  Record Your Problem Solving Strategies

3.)  Feedback:  What worked?  What did not work?

Preparing for Gastric Bypass Surgery Check List

Integrate meal replacements into Nutrition Plan
Drink 2 or more cups of skim, 1% or soy milk daily
Drink 64 oz. water daily

Read Food Labels

Serving size/calories/proteins/fiber (aim for 25-35 gms daily)

Make Changes Now

Complete behavior change plan
Complete food and activity log
Lose weight now and stabilize your weight before surgery

Have a great weekend everyone

Take care,
Kathy
