Thanks for the post Sis.  Someone reminded me of all the newbies around and maybe they were not fully aware of what we do here at the NW.

Hi George,

I'm coming out of lurker mode tonight.  I need to make myself more accessible and become more involved in the board, even though I live way out here in West Texas!!

My soon to be 1st grader had his open house tonight.  It went great!  I volunteer with the parent group, so we had lots to do during the evening.

My soon to be freshman in college daughter (yes, you heard it right - 1st grade and college freshman!) will be moving into the dorms next Tuesday.   I think it's finally beginning to sink in that she's leaving.  What will I do with all that extra time?  Last year was honestly the busiest year of my life with a Kindergartner and a Senior.  Time flies........................

I hope everyone has a good night.  School starts Monday so we've got to make the most of our last day tomorrow!!

Terri

Hi Terri!!!  No matter you are so far out there in West Texas...see me waving all the way from over here in Southeast Texas???  Howdy over there!!!  You've got that age range of kiddos kinda like me.  My oldest is just a couple years younger than yours as she is an incoming Junior in high school, I have another one thankfully now in the same school as she's a freshman, and then there's Sarah - she's only in 2nd grade.  I swear, I think I'm at that elementary all the time with all the stuff they want brought in all the time!

Thanks for hopping on George's Nigh****chman post - a nice lil' place us night owls like to stop at!  Always nice to see George's smiling face at the end of a busy day!!!

Hope you have a great "last weekend" before all the hustle and bustle starts!  OH...how bout' all that paperwork you sign for elementary!  OMG, I'm AMAZED at how many papers I have to sign each year after that first day of school!!!

Oh most definitely!  I would NOT want to go back that far for nuttin', although as soon as we get our puppy in a month, it's probably going to feel like that!!!

Thanks for stopping in.  I spent a week out in Lubbock about 10 years ago.  I really like the way the city is laid out.  It seems impossible to get lost.

The people we stayed with did not have air conditioning, they used the swamp cooler instead.  It worked great.

You're right - impossible to get lost!  Streets laid out in numerical AND alphabetical order!!  Everything is square and flat.  Gotta love it.  Been here 45 years (except for the 10 that I left, but came back!)

Good night everyone,

Evening George,

Missed you last night, then I realized there was a Ranger game going on!

Thank you for keeping this post going, it has truely been a sanity saving post for me the last few months! (what little sanity is left!)

Day 4 update on the new job...  Had a minor melt down, I think my brain is on total overload with all of the new info..  But I know I can do this, and more efficently than it is currently being done now, have my last training day tomorrow before I am totally on my own.  I know I can make a difference, and just need to be patient with trying to get procedures changed, well at least trying to get procedures implimented since there are none now.  I just need to remember, baby steps, and all will be good!

Sending a shout out to Terri H.   Hey from McKinney, I'm in a burb north of Dallas.  Welcome, and post often!

Prayers for all of the spoken and unspoken requests, prayers for all hurting tonight for what ever reason.  Please keep Elizabeth Grace's family in your prayers, they will be laying this precious baby to rest this up coming weekend.  Prayers of comfort, strength and grace go out to the Dunfords.

Blessings to all,
Avis
