Anyone on the fence about the OH Event???

thanks monica- i guess i assumed at least some of the speakers were more geared toward pre-ops. all those speakers that you explained sound cool. can someone tell me if i need to stay at the hotel though, it would cut my costs significantly if i could stay with some of my friends or family that are in dallas

I've been to lots of these conferences, so I can chime in on this note. Staying onsite is just so much more fun, IMHO. The one time I didn't...just wasn't as fun...no offense to the wonderful peeps I went with. We had to fight traffic, paring, etc time and time again, in a strange city...and I think you miss the "sisterhood/brotherhood" experience somewhat. We ALL understand money woes--that's why most of us are staying 4 to a room. Just a suggestion-if you don't mind meeting new friends/family (cuz you'll only be a "stranger" for 10 seconds): Start a post for "Roomate wanted"..or whatever you want to call it. I betcha plenty of peeps will respond-either newcomers, like yourself, or peeps who have cancellations in their rooms. I PROMISE-it will be well worth the effort.

I am going to be at the WLS Channel meeting on the 30th. 

I was invited to join the Professionals Roundtable but it really seems to be geared more to bariatric surgeons.

I was also going to suggest that, if there is anyone in the Temple/Killeen/Waco area going, we could ride-share. I'm staying two nights, but I'm from Dallas, know the area well, and am staying at the hotel. I also have a toll tag, so no going up 35--we can zip right up the tollway.
