...right now I have had the habit of...grabbing a cookie ,or chip,or cereal,or cracker, etc. because I am serving them to the day care. Or toast or a bagel in the morning with NO protein because I am in a hurry. Those are the kind of habits to avoid. I AM eating salad this week. May eat a little fruit. I am basically trying with some of the other grads to get back to the basics. It is amazing that I know my goal today and just fixing lunch to go to the pool grabbed 4 pringles out of the can to eat! I started to chew one...realized it and soit it out!!!LOL! put the rest in the can. But like paul said there are ways to eat carbs smartly. I am so glad to get this topic brought up again....lookin for quick meal ideas...it was a pain in the butt to make mself a salad and chicken to take to the pool with us...would be much easier to make a turkey sandwich...but I NEED to stop the madness before I look up 50 lbs later and scratching my head wondering what happened!! Good luck in your journey!!!

July, have you tried Oroweat Sandwich thins?  They are fab for sandwiches or even a hamburger(chicken, turkey, veggie).  The multigrain has 100 cals, 1 g of fat, 22g of carb but 5 g of fiber and 5 g of protein .  I even turned my mom and aunt onto them.

I agree with Paul, but my high fiber carbs mostly come from fruits and vegetables.  I'd gotten off track with too many whole grains and baked crap which realy has little to no nutritional value.  Leave the pringles in the can!!  If you need a carb try baked sweet potatoes...sliced thin and baked they become chip like with lots of vitamins.  Whole wheat pasta and brown rice or ok, but try using less and instead toss in veggies with your pasta.

For today's challenge I'm only doing lean meats, eggs, cheese and vegetables (leafy greens).  There are cabs in the cheese and veggies, but minimal.  I need to do this as a way of "detoxing" so that I can get back on my usual plan and stop the crave/crash cycle I'd gotten on my eating too much of the other stuff.

In the end, however, you need to do what works for you.  If you can't do an all or nothing then you need to find a healthy balance that is on your medical team's plan.

I'm dealing with it by drinking extra fluids.  If my day keeps going like this though I am going to run out of toilet paper!!
