...need carbs....challenge folks?

...who else on the challenge is feeling it??? I have gotten so accustomed to carbs in the morning the eggs are just not cutting it! But I will follow through...
...so if you are still hungry after having 2 eggs (only one yolk) with cheese what would you do? Just move on because that is enough food or have a shake?
Word to the newer outs...reintroducing the bad carbs may "seem" like a good idea but will come up and bite you in the butt! I promise....and I know several will come on and agree. I am over 5 years out and have just recently began to put on weight. Aand it is coming on quickly...and is very scary. Because as Yvonne said yesterday...it is easier to start (or continue) to replace feelings like stress and boredom and frustration with food instead of trying to figure out constructive ways to deal with them.
My goal today is  to "STOP" when I am about to mindlessly put food in my mouth and ask myself why am I eating this? (example: when fixing 6 kids breakfast this morning I popped at least 6 or 7 pieces of dry cereal in my mouth for no reason but habit--already had carbs I didn't intend to have) Good luck to all today...and remember...we CAN do HARD things...and we can do ANYTHING for 24 hours!~~~

I will join you in this challenge July.   I am coming up to my 4th post op year and this year has been extremely stressful to me.   I am not so much a carbs person....but one who eats...then for gets that I have eaten and eats again.   I plan on logging everything that goes into my mouth today and that way if it doubt...it is written down.   Good luck to you my friend.   I know that together we all can be successful again.   OLDIES UNITE !!!!

July, take a deep breathe, if you have REAL HUNGER then eat something healthy.  How about grabbing some deli ham and a picture rolled up, or even cheese if you want that.

I almost did the same thing this morning but it was peanut butter and jelly.  The boys didn't want school lunch today so I made them sandwiches and out of habit I scrapped the little left it the bowl with a spoon and had it to my mouth when I realized whoa I cannot have this.  It's scary how out of habit we do this without thought.

I had 2 slices of turkey bacon earlier and 10 turkey pepperoni microwaved.  The turkey bacon was suppose to be regular pork bacon that's microwaved......the boys wanted bacon and eggs for breakfast, well needless to say neither would eat turkey bacon, lol.

I'll vouch with you on staying away from carbs for all the newer post ops because even if you have them earlier out you'll still lose weight due to surgery, further down the road those carbs add up ALLOT, and QUICKLY.

Thank you all for the advice!! I have a few questions...
Do you avoid ALL carbs? Or just the obvious ones? I don't count every carb, but I avoid the obvious bread, potatoes, pasta, cereal, etc. But some of the things I cook has carbs, like my sauces and such. I had a coffee the other day (first time since surgery- totally craving it) and that had carbs. Sometimes I have a handfull of baked lays chips b/c I can handle them well, and they are a satisfying snack for me (but that is only once a month). Do you count all carbs, or carbs minus sugars alcohol like Atkins?
Thanks again for the help!!

P.S For breakfast, I do veggie omlet (with one egg, lol) or I do an omlet with ff cheese, or my fav is mango salsa (TO DIE FOR) and I love it on top of an omlet or a scrambled egg. I have not found it in Texas except for at Super Target! It is heavenly over just about anything! The peaches and mango's make everything taste sooo yummy!
