The NIGH****CHMAN - Monday 8/17
Good afternoone everyone. Just woke up and ate breakfast. Have to get ready to go to the Rangers game. Not much else going on.
Anonymous prayers for the friend of a TMBer, who is very troubled at this time. I have been in touch with the TMBer and prayers are still needed.
Prayer requests are listed below.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Wow! What a weekend. I'm exhausted.
I was on the air Friday night until shortly after midnight. I probably fell asleep around 1am and was up at 5:45 to head to the airport. I arrived in Detroit just before 2pm EDT, got the shuttle to the rental car and started driving to my friend Kim's house. I got out there about 3:45. We ran into town, had a glass of wine to calm us both down and then went back to her place to get ready for the reunion. It started at 6pm. We got there around 6:40. It was so strange to be in a place where I recognized so many people. That rarely happens for me when I'm in TX. The "official" reunion ended at midnight, but we ended up going to an after party. Kim and I got back to her house after 4am.
I slept until about 9am. Kim's husband made us breakfast and then we started making plans for the day. My mom and step-dad are up in MI right now as they had a wedding to attend on Saturday and a baby shower next Saturday. Kim and I met up with my mom and we went to visit my grandmother. I was able to get my cousin Lori to meet us as well. Lori and her husband adopted a second boy from Kazazhstan earlier this year, so I got to meet the newest member of our family, too. After spending a few hours with family, Kim, my mom and I went to the mall and grabbed a very late lunch. It was just about a perfect day.
I finally fell asleep this morning around midnight and even though my alarm wasn't set to go off until 3:15, I woke up at 2:09. I left Kim's at 3:40, dropped off the rental car, ate breakfast at the airport and caught my flight at 6:55am. I got to San Antonio just before 11am.
I've uploaded pictures from my reunion on my FB profile and my new avatar is from a photo one of my classmates took that I liked. I'm still trying to get through all of my email, apply for a couple jobs, etc. I've got an open house for a new business venture one of my former clients has started tonight at 6:30. Hopefully, I don't need to stay there too long as I am wiped out!
I'm so glad I went home though. I needed some friends and family time.
I'll be in and out tonight. Have fun at the game. Prayers for all who need them.

If I were lying, wouldn't my pants be on fire?!?
Early day today. The two older girls had dermatology appts at 8:30. All three of the girls growled at me for a while on having to go so early...sorry, not my fault. I had made appts for them in the afternoon but last week, got a call from the office saying something came up and the doc wouldn't be able to see anyone in the afternoon so if I wanted them to be seen before school started, it had to be early. After we got done there, we had to go to the high school for V's textbook checkout. A *****aotic but we EVENTUALLY got out of there. Have to go there on Wed. for Heather's books and locker assignment. Once we got done there, we had to run to Sam's (I absolutely HATE going there with the girls as they still do the "oh mom, can we get this" thing), then back home for about an hour, then the two older girls off to tennis. I picked them up at 5:00, raced them home, they both showered up, ate, and we all had to be back out at the high school by 6:30 as they had an athletic pep rally where they announced the fall sports teams of course saving football for last. That place was a sea of red and white!!! I was at least impressed that the tennis team got recognized as a group, which was a first.
Now we're home and all of us are exhausted. The rest of the week looks to have much of the same, busy wise. UGH.
Jennifer, I am so glad you had a wonderful time, it wore me out reading your post! Glad Michael made those reservations for you and that you had an awesome time!
I had an awesome first day at work, the people there are all wonderful (with the exception of one, and I had been warned about that one in the interview) I had the opportunity to put her in her place today, but didn't figure the 1st day on the job was the right time.
Met up with some Collin County folks tonight, as always, it was great to see everyone, and to meet some new faces to me.
My heart is heavy for the Dunford family tonight, my prayers will continue for their healing. May God continue to keep them all in the palm of His hand. Rest in peace sweet baby Elizabeth Grace.
Prayers for the spoken and unspoken requests. Prayers for all who are hurting tonight, for what ever reason.
Blessings to all,
Avis
