see if this looks okay....
egg with a little cheee for breakfast
romaine salad with diced chicken (okay to use a tsp of low fat ranch?)
same for dinner

not sure about snacks...
do nutty buddies count?? (J/K of course...but my stressed out self actually bought some of these for me...shame on me)

are we counting fruits at all? maybe that for snack? or maybe need to try a protein shake...(huh what's that ...haven't had one in ages!)

hi jack here

the walmart pnut filled cookies are way lower in sugar than the nutter butters - not quite as yummy but I don't dump on them

I get those if I KNOW I am going to eat the cookies I am getting the kids LOL

July, the low fat ranch is fine.  The nutty buddies are EVIL.

It you want fruit then that's up to you.  In our chat last night we were talking about various things and I mentioned my surgeon's plan.  What we were to eat early out (lean meats and green leafy veggies ONLY) and that they always told me when I felt out of control to take 1 week and eat just that (meats and veggies).

Since I've tried to cut back on the sweets and starches and I keep going back to them I'm giving this a shot.  I need to be honest with myself, my eating is horrible.  Sweets call my name daily and I go to them......chocolate is a vice I need to learn to deal with.  I want to ditch all sweets during this time, including fruit to hopefully not want a sweet treat or two every day.

Woo Hoo!  Look at all this planning going on here.  I'm very impressed.

Breakfast:  1 egg (probably boiled) and 1 piece of turkey sausage
Snack: LF Cheese Stick
Lunch: London Broil with mushrooms and onions
Snack: Protein shake
Dinner: Grilled shrimp & zucchini skewers with spinach

Tomorrow is my grocery day, so this is all stuff I have in the kitchen already.

I've talked with DH and this weekend we'll be starting on a "de-carb" diet together.  We're going to try the first 2 weeks of the South Beach Diet.  We've both had good luck with that diet before.  I know it will help me quit craving carbs.

I'm not at a pt. today or probably the rest of this week to get super serious...Ben's leaving for school Sunday and I already have the mindset to start Monday.  If anyone wants to give me a lecture on waiting...please keep it to yourself.  I've held myself together for him to leave home and hope it stays that way.  I do know what I SHOULD do and that is start this today, but I haven't gone to the store because I didn't know it was starting, and know that my best chance for success is waiting until my mind is ready Monday.  It will give me a great new focus for when he leaves.  I checked out eggface's site and saw some great ideas/recipes like some of you that sound so good.

My plan for today:
protein coffee when waking (only caffeine for day)...16 oz.
24 oz. water
20 oz. chicken broth
Atkins lo carb protein shake
protein shake for lunch...will make and take w/ me
we're having a party for our staff meeting todayaround 3
poppyseed chicken for dinner

((((Karla)))) I'm sure Ben leaving home is tough.  We pick sometimes that we can't wait to not have kiddos home but in reality it's a scary situation.

Hang in there sweetie.

Thanks Dana...I know I'll be sad and probably cry, but am doing okay...focusing on getting everything together (pretty much is...need to go buy him a steamer for his clothes) and sitting in the hall...getting there Sunday and settling him  in...I think Ill be fine...I raised him to do this, but do cry every once in a while thinking about it.  I know I won't be ready to go into seclusion come Sunday afternoon...makes me really glad I work!  I have the first Aggie football game to look forward to and the OH convention so I'm ready for Fall activities.
