Old timers and Stressors - Accountablility -Regret
BECKY and ALL...I can soooo totally relate--y'all are where I was when most of you first came into my life..and NO..I am NOT going to say "I said you so"...that would be so WRONG to do...I was hoping what I went thru/still go thru would NEVER happen to any of you...I APPLAUD YOU for recognizing you have a problem, and for getting a handle on it BEFORE you regain 70 pounds, like I regained and had to lose, and still fight daily.
I don't have any great "pearls of wisdom", at the moment, as I'm running on 2 hs of sleep, and am supposed to be in bed right now....but I'll try to come up with something smart and get back with you. I WILL tell you "The Beck Solution" and working the steps has REALLY been helping me--it's amazing what writing things on index cards and post it notes does for a person!!

We Can Do Hard Things
Rachel and Dana - all of us have this balancing 'act' that we are expected to juggle. But we also have the need to think a bit longer about what we eat before we just grab something. Because, look around at any public venue and you will see those moms (and Dads) that don't take the time with food and it 'shows'. I promise I am not judging, but KNOWING, how hard it is to always be putting the family and work and church first. It food in and not food worked off.
I am saying that we now have the advantage, NOT just because of our tool,but because we know how to work it and it still works, even years and years later. Gina is our shining example.
The help and support we need is when we are 'on the ledge' so to speak. Like at work when I have a client that pushes me there, I have a work contact I call, and he talks me down. It's just like quitting smoking or drinking or any other addiction.
it's a matter of answering the 'why".
Why do we choose to eat out and have something we shouldn't instead of eating at home and healthy ? Time? Planning?
Why do we eat foods or liquids that our doctors or our bodies have said it will give us pain and grief? Taste? Need? Addiction?
Why do we run for the chips, potatoes, cookies, (name it) when we are not in control??? What can that food do that we can't?
I have the Beck Solution and it's collecting dust. Time to shine that puppy up, put on my readers and get after it. In the meantime...
What is it that each of YOU need and how can WE give suggests and support?
