AT &T Dallas area-have you been excluded on your policy
I am asking a question for a friend of mine who is not part of the board....
Q-My friend works for ATT in Dallas, has been denied twice for a band or rny..seems that ATT won't pay for any WLS...DOES ANYONE KNOW MORE ABOUT ATT POLICY??
Has anyone ever appealed and won?
She really wants a WLS, so will probably need to leave ATT to work somewhere else, if its truly excluded ???????????????
Thanks for any info you can lend...

Yes - the employers do choose what to exclude from the insurance policies to keep "costs down". It sucks...........but that is part of the economy nowadays with things to get much worse - I'm sure.
Good LUck.
Good LUck.
- Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose. Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email. I'll answer it as soon as possible.

Is she management or union? WLS has been an excluded benefit for union employees for at least 4 years. It was an included benefit for management in 2005 when I had my surgery, but with the cuts and changes that have been made in recent years, it may be excluded across the board now.
When I had my surgery, AT&T/UHC would approve with a BMI of 35+ and two co-morbidities or a BMI of 40+.
