PRAYERS NEEDED FOR SOMEONE I DON'T KNOW !!! TRAGEDY !!!

Today someone was killed on Rufe Snow Dr. in North Richland Hills. They were on a motorcycle with no helmet. I don't know who it was...man or woman. All I know is my best friend called me all shook up. She had just passed the accident site and the person was laying on the street covered by a sheet covered with blood. She said that there was no cars bashed around only a motorcycle laying on the street messed up. Whoever that was...has a family hurting somewhere due to the loss of this person. Please pray with me for this poor unfortunate soul's family. I drove by that site about a hour ago ( 2 hours after my friend called ) and the fire dept and police were there and that street was blocked off and the body marks were on the street...a man was taking photos and the fire department was hosing down the street and surrounding area. My heart breaks now for this poor souls family. Thank you and God bless you all !!!

That saddens me so much. My husband rides a motorcycle and being deployed didn't do it, but I sware his bike will.... they lost several guys in his unit from Motorcycle accidents. They are trying to ban them for soldiers on Fort Hood. It is sad.
Thanks for sharing. I feel for that family. I really do.

Thanks so much. In today's paper it said that he was in a accident with a 18 wheeler. Sounds like he never had a chance and was only 30 yrs old. Really sad...they didn't give his name though. Prayers going up for everyone who rides a motorcycle.

you do know statictically a soldier is MORE likely to die on a major US highway than in Iraq? part of that is due to great medics n docs but I know here at Stewart they keep a running total of days since the last fatal acedent - 23 days currently :(

the goal was 100 days - don't know if they have ever made it

Tim wants a bike when he comes home next year - just don't know but I never say no when he is first home so I expect we will have one in 14 months or so

Home is where the army allows me to live with my husband

I know what I need to do - I have to choose to take care of me or I choose to fail

Danni....just make sure if Tim buys one that he wears a helmet at all times. My nephew had a friend that was riding a motorcycle a year ago and hit a dip in the road and he was going really fast....he went airborne and ended up getting decapitated and dying. He had no helmet. Prayers going out daily for Tim and all our other military !!!

Funny that your friend should mention the helmet thing, and tragic ..

I was just reading earlier today the list of new criminal laws and traffic codes going into effect in Texas next month, and was amazed to see that Texas has gone one step further in promoting "helmetless riding" for bikers.

I will do a more detailed post on this matter on the TMB, but one of the new laws repeals the "helmet sticker/insurance requirement". in Texas.

As many Texans know, Texas basically repealed its motorcycle helmet law many years .. No idea why this was done, while our State has some of the tightest seatbelt laws in the nation!

More recently, Texas did require riders who did not wear a helmet to have in place $10,000.00 in health insurance coverage at all times on them, and to show proof of that coverage by displaying a sticker for that purpose on their bikes. However, one of the new laws repeals and eliminates that requirement anymore.

    Another of the new laws, though, prohibits transporting children 5 and under on bikes unless they are in an old-fashioned sidecar.

Sometimes Paul I wonder if the people making our laws on on drugs when they vote them in. That is just down right STUPID !!!! UGH People who ride motorcylcles without helmets are just stupid IMHO. They are literally signing their death certificates by doing that. But still no one should die like that !!! I went by the spot yesterday and someone had already placed a cross there with flowers and there were some men with yellow vests on surveying the area and measuring. Probably for the police investigation.

I remember sometime back I was looking at a lady's OH profile .. She had lost a lot of weight with her surgery and was at goal .. Her profile pics showed how she was celebrating her new-found life by riding around the country with her b/f on the back of his chopper W/O A HELMET!

I told the member I was so happy for her losing the weight, but did not understand how she could turn around and try to cheat death by riding around so recklessly like that.

No response from her, but hopefully she came to her senses and wears one now!
