The NIGH****CHMAN - Monday 8/10
Hanging out for a little bit on Saturday was enjoyable.
Sandi B - you are melting away for sure. I can't believe it is the same person I met in the surgery prep area at Arlington Memorial.
Not much else going on here.
Anonymous prayers for the friend of a TMBer, who is very troubled at this time. I have been in touch with the TMBer and prayers are still needed.
Prayer requests are listed below.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
I just read of Kirk Thompson's death. How very sad. I read his blog and web site when I was early post-op and found his story incredible.
Today was pretty busy. I've applied for 8 jobs and have a few more descriptions to read through before I'm done tonight. Tomorrow someone is coming to see the house at 1pm, so hopefully that will go well. I saw my shrink this afternoon so my head's in a good place.
And lastly, I decided to go home this weekend for my class reunion. I was able to use a frequent flyer ticket, will be staying with a friend, and two classmates have offered me their spare tickets to the reunion for no cost. I'm renting a car because my friend that I'm staying with lives 1:15 from the airport and my flight on Monday is early, but the whole weekend is not going to cost me very much. I'm really hoping it will help me recharge my batteries a bit and refocus.
Tomorrow will be the usual job stuff, lunch with a former colleague, workout at the gym and the pool. The pool is my celebration of someone else looking at the house and having a fruitful job search today. Plus, my dress for the reunion is bright yellow and will look better if I've got a little more of a tan.
I'll be around for a while tonight. Prayers for all who need them. RIP Kirk. You were a really amazing man.

If I were lying, wouldn't my pants be on fire?!?
Hi, George!
My family still needs prayer. Thank you for keeping it posted.
There hasn't been an update on Elizabeth since Sunday morning and it was brief and without specific information which is Michelle's common way of postings. It also said that they are in endless prayer and I got the impression that they are holding a 24 hour prayer vigil for Elizabeth. It is possible someone else updated as this has happened in the past but, in any event. it sounds like Elizabeth is having a very difficult recovery from the brain surgery.
Here is the latest:

Sorry for the delayed update, however, the past days have been very d
I have two sides to my brain - a right side and a left side. The trouble is sometimes there is nothing left in the right side and nothing right in the left side.

Well, I'm happy to report that SO FAR, there is peace in the house with the two older girls! Both had tennis "tryouts"...they all make the team, it's just a matter of what number you are on the "ladder". The first seven slots play on varsity for every match. There are then two alternates so essentially, the first nine are officially on the Varsity team. The remainder are on the Jr. Varsity team. I gave them both individual pep talks as well as one together. Told them to just go out there and have fun for Pete's sake and do what they do best...play hard and play fair, even if they ended up playing each other. Heather played a gal who got so flustered, she asked her if there was any chance she would be willing to START OVER since the girl was down two points. Uh, NO!!! The girl continued to get flustered and ended up throwing her racquet against the fence at the end. Hmm, can we say "anger management"!!! I told the girls I'd better NEVER, EVER see them do something like that. Heather whooped up on her 8-1. The girl that V played was further down the ladder last year so she easily beat her 8-1 as well. Second match was much of the same, Heather beat the girl 8-2 and the hot-headed girl that Heather played ended up having to play V so needless to say, she does NOT like my two girls since V beat her with the same score as Heather had...8-2!!! The coach was like, "wow, the Pugnetti girls are on FIRE today"! YIPPEE!!!!! Both were asked to come back tomorrow so hopefully they will do much of the same in the morning. A couple of the girls didn't have their physicals done so the coach was like, "sorry, rules are rules and it's not like I haven't told you/sent out several notifications letting you know that it is against school rules to allow play/practice of any sport without a current physical. Oh well... that's their fault. I had my girls' done right after school was out as they are valid anytime after May 1st. I do the girls' in June so we don't have to worry about it when we get back. Hopefully I will have decent news on their matches again tomrrow night!
Guess I'd better finish up and get to bed a bit earlier. I have to get the girls up by 8:00 as they are due on the court at 9:00. uuugh... Fine for me to get up but that also means I have to wake poor Sarah up, too! Sarah is NOT a morning person so she will be a bit of a crabby butt again tomorrow.......
Later.....
