Reflection On My Journey
I am sitting here in my apt on my bed with my laptop watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta reflecting on the journey that I have before me in 23 days.
I am hella excited, anxious, and ready to hurl all at the same time.
I have steps that I have to take between now and September 2, 2009 to prepare me for surgery such as:
1) Getting my blood pressure normal by taking Amlodipine (once a day), Lisinopril (twice a day), AND Metoprolol (twice a day).
2) Going to the hospital August 21, 2009 to do the Pre-Admitting (Chest X-ray, Blood work, EKG, hospital paper work, and pay $100.00 hospital co-pay).
3) Starting the 14 day pre-op 1200 calorie liquid diet on August 21, 2009.
4) Starting the clear liquid diet on September 1, 2009 and then nothing to eat or drink after midnight.
I guess the really great news in all of this is that this is all familiar to me because I have been through this back in 06/2002 and I actually have a detailed journal online at
http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/bbwnomore
So when I need to go back and remember something I know where to go to get the information.
I am just wondering if this time around with my revision if things will be exactly the same or if it will be completely different as far as the pain, recovery, lack of complications, etc.

Hi Teena,
I can so relate to that! That's exactly how I felt before surgery.
I don't think there's really any way to predict how this recovery will compare with your first. There are so many variables.
I expected to have a smooth recovery because I'm a fairly good patient & was relatively healthy going into surgery. But, unforeseen complications arose that threw a gigantic wrench into that plan.
And I've seen people go into this with severe co-morbities that could have easily made for a tougher time, yet they have no problems.
I wish you only the best and I hope these next few weeks go by quickly for you!

Thank you so much Barbara for responding to my post.
I will just gear up for whatever is ahead of me and remain to be positive.
Thx.

Thank you for your response.
I did go to your profile and take a look.
I have had WLS prior.
This time around it is a revision so it is a little bit different.
Thank you for your post though.
No, I do not have an angel yet, so I appreciate the offer.
I will let you know when the time approaches.
