Hello to all of Aunt Judy's prayer warriors.
First of all I'd like to thank each and every one of you for all of
your thoughts, prayers, and kind words you have sent in e-mails. I
started reading some of the e-mails to Judy. If you have anything
you'd like me to read to her, please reply to this e- mail. I am in
San Antonio to visit Aunt Judy. I am having some lunch right now, but
will go back to the hospital in a little while, and again tomorrow.
My flight leaves very early Monday morning.
FYI again, Judy is at LifeCare, 8902 Floyd Curl Rd, San Antonio.
Visiting hours are 9 to 9 since she is not in ICU.
She arrived at LifeCare yesterday, so this was the nurse's first day
with her. She did not know a whole lot yet, but I told her what I
knew, and she looked through her chart. She said that she didn't see
anything different than what we already know. The only thing that she
could really provide is that she is taking a stimulant drug that is
helping her to come out of this so they can rehabilitate her. She
also pointed out the tubes, etc as far as what they are and what they
do. She is berating on her own, but has various feeding and medicine
tubes.
Aunt Judy keeps opening her eyes, but I just don't know what is
voluntary or involuntary (the nurse is not quite sure either--
especially since this is her first day with Judy. It seems as if,
however, that she keeps looking straight at me. I keep trying to talk
to her, and hold/rub/tickle her hands, and read emails, etc.
Sometimes she moves her mouth and legs, but again, I don't know if
it's voluntary or not. I really hope she knows and remembers that I'm
there for her. If anyone can go see her, I know it is very difficult,
but it might be good to try to stimulate her. If not, please just
keep her in your prayers.
Take care. Keeping the faith...
Michelle
