hair loss???????
Mine fell out in handfuls from 3-6 months and that is when I cut it shorter, although shorter for me is still longer than shoulder length.
It started coming back in at 9 months and now I have all this "fuzz" around the top of my scalp that likes to stand straight out when the humidity is high - which here in Houston is EVERY DAY!
Then about a month ago some started falling out again, so I don't know what's up with that. I won't know for a couple of years if it will ever be back to its pre-op thickness since it will take that long for the new growth to get that long.

Well CRAP! Not what I thought I would hear... but I knew I could trust the TMB to give it to me straight!!!! I guess I will finish up the biotin I have and continue with the protein. It can't hurt but sounds like it won't help too much. It seems like my hair starting falling out maybe around 8 months post op. I do notice some regrowth because it's short and more of what I would call fly away hair (does what it wants to). Guess I'll just have to let it takes it's course.
Thanks for the insight!!!!!!

My hair has always been so thick also...I found the loss came for me between 3-6 months..I am 7 months out today and I have found it isnt falling out anymore and I dont know if that is due to taking the biotin or not..My dr (Warnock) put me on 3 mg after surgery of biotin and about 4 months after surgery I had my hair cut and my stylist told me to add selinem(sp?) and it has truly helped..I am not one that likes popping a handful of vitamins but I sure wanted to do whatever helped with my hairloss. I had been getting tons of protein in and vitamins so i figured why not try the biotin and selinem too..I am still taking it to make sure I am out of the woods on the hairloss..good luck
Paige,
You might try using a satin pillowcase too. I know it sounds crazy, but my grandmother always used one and said it helped her hair. Never knew what this meant until I saw Rachael Ray's show the other day. Apparently, a satin pillowcase will keep your hair from breaking off while you sleep. Now, it won't help the hair loss you already have, but if it keeps more of it from breaking off while the other is going on, maybe it won't be so bad??

The usual case is that it does grow back in, after the body's protein uptake has sufficient time to take place ..
Were you taking the usual preventive supps (or supposedly so) Biotin? Chromium piccolinate? Zinc piccolinate? Full-spectrum amino acids? If not, you might try taking them now to stop any further loss and possibly ameliorate the current condition of loss ..
