Judy Update - A Bit More Good News
Here's the latest from her niece:

Hi all,
Ok... So I think I have some good news to report, or at least some of
it is better...
Aunt Judy is stable, and no longer needs to be in ICU! However, she
is being transferred to a long term facility called LifeCare so she
can get more specialized care and rehab. The nurse told me that she
is still following light, squeezing fingers, and opening her eyes on
command MOST of the time.
She still needs to get to a point where she is fully awake and alert,
so to all her prayer angels out there.... Keep 'em coming!!!
Thanks,
Michelle

Well, you heard the lady ..
btw, I have found out that Don is not able to pay their bills as they come due, in that he is not a co-owner on Judy's bank accounts and therefore doesn't have access to them .. This is rapidly becomng an emergency for them .. It looks therefore like Judy will need a guardianship created for her, at least for now .. Don would not be qualified to serve as same, for reasons I won't go into here, so she will apparently need someone else to fill that role. I have heard that Catholic Services will sometimes act as guardian for such people in a pinch (Judy & Don are Catholic, btw) .. Same for "Lutheran Charities" (for people of all faiths) .. Does anyone here have any experience working with either agency, that could provide us some guidance?

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
