My TV News Spot

Just wanted to update you guys about the TV news story I filmed this morning.  It's going to be a 2 minute "feature story" on the 10pm news (Dallas NBC 5) and it will air on August 19th.  Apparently "I'm" the feature.   They spent about 3-4 minutes filming Dr Golden (psychologist), about 3-4 minutes filming Dr Barker and about 10-15 minutes filming me.  Then they also took pics of me holding my pre-op shorts and also shot copies of all my pre-op to post-op photos.  Then they had Dr Barker and I go into an exam room and "visit" and filmed that too. 

The crux of the story is to explore which surgery is more successful long term.   They basically wanted to hear about my experience with MY lapband and my subsequent revision to the RNY.   I mentioned Chris and Kris by name (first name only) for two "bandsters" that have been very successful but you know everything's in the editing so I don't know which "slant" they will use.  I loved the reporter and his cameraman so hopefully it will come out good.  He swore he would turn me into Diane Sawyer before it aired.

It's amazing how different it turns out than you think it was filmed. I have no idea how many hours they filmed for my 10 minutes on Big Medicine. They left out so many things they filmed.

Ditto the "what gets left out/changed" in editing.  You saw how goofy my interview was, and they used the same film bit twice!.

You're gonna be a Star!!!  I'll try to find it online.

I bet you did great.  I can't wait to see it.  Post a reminder on the day it is suppose to air.  I have sometimers.
