The NIGH****CHMAN - Monday - 8/3

Good afternoon.

It's been a busy day in my household, and I haven't done a thing.

Mary went over to watch the kiddos while Oleta went to the hospital for the paperwork to have her mother sent to the house via Med Star.  Brad worked on the garage most of the day yesterday.  Put some molding up. The carpeting was put in today.  The ceiling fan will be hung tomorrow.  Oleta painted it Friday and Saturday.

Mary had to run to the store for me.  Of course she got it done before I had to leave for work.

Just got off the phone with Oleta.  They are on the way to the house with her mother now.

Anonymous prayers for the friend of a TMBer, who is very troubled at this time.

Prayer requests are listed below.

Also, please feel free to just visit here.  Tell us about how your day went.  Your successes.  Your failures.  Your fun.  Whatever.  When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

Hi George I talked to my mom earlier.  Sis was able to take a real bath today and was feeling pretty good.  Tomorrow she is going to the hairdresser in the hotel to have her hair washed and styled.  I cannot imagine going 2 weeks without a good bath and hair cleaned, yikes.  You do what you have to I know but it ain't fun.

Renee sees her medical team on Wednesday and is hopeful the feeding tube comes out then.  She still has not had any liquids by mouth not even water.  So if she passes the upper GI she'll be home free from the tube and get to go to all liquids.

Hey George...
Just poppin' on for a few minutes.  We got home this afternoon and now it is the joy (NOT) of unpacking after being gone six weeks.  UUUGH!  Luckily we did allllll the laundry before we came home so with the clothes, it's just a matter of putting them all back into the closets and drawers.  Usually that's the easy part, it's getting the multitude of other things put away that takes forever!  Thankfully Paul had the programmable thermostat figured out so when we got home, the house was already cooled off.  We have come home to the house being near 90 degrees upstairs and that takes over a day to cool off and virtually impossible to sleep in our beds when it is that hot.  The two older girls had high school tennis practice.  I sent them both with a gallon of water.  It was 102 degrees at 6:00 when I dropped them off.  YUCK!  Both will be starting on potassium supplements, too.  When it is this hot and they are working out in this heat, if they don't do the supplements, they get cramps in their legs so the extra potassium helps keep that in check!

Will try to check back tonight but don't know how long I'll be up.  Two days in the car, packed in like sardines has wiped me out!!!

Hi George;

Sorry I missed the weekend. We were up in Dallas for my cousin Rick's birthday and stayed out way too late every night. Even last night, we didn't get back to San Antonio until after 11pm. I'm wiped out. This weekend showed me that I'm not as young as I used to be.

Friday's interview was good. It was with a recruiter, but I got a lot of good information at it. Friday, we contacted a realtor and saw six houses on Saturday. We found four that would work, but one that borders on our dream home. It's a lease and I'm leary of trying to get it because I know we wouldn't be able to afford it when it's time to buy a new home and I don't want to be disappointed when it's time to buy.

I applied for the VP of Marketing job at American Institute of Gastric Banding in Richardson today. I'm hoping my experience as a post-op as well as my professional experience will at least get me an interview. I'd love to get this job. I applied for three others today and I had a phone interview this morning with one of the competitors of my old company. Right now, the competitor doesn't have any positions in DFW, but the recruiter I spoke to said if any come up, I will be her first call.

That's all for today. Prayers for all who need them.
Blessings, Jennifer

Good to see you.

I still admire you for your perserverence.  I know there are days you probably get down, but you sure don't let it show here.  Keep smiling and we'll keep praying for you.

It's not perserverence as much as it's needing a job. Until I get something permanent, I have no choice but to keep trying.

Yeah, but there are so many people out there that really need a job, that just start feeling sorry for themselves and don't look any more.

Well, I'm not going to take offense to that statement, LOL....

Still looking and applying here, other than that not much new for me.  Prayers for all of the spoken and unspoken requests.  Special healing prayers for Meggie, Dana's sister, and always for Elizabeth Grace and her St Judes friends.  Blessings to all.

Lady, there is SOMETHING out there for you!!! I just know it (from my big mouth to God's ears right :)

When I was born, I cried and the world rejoiced. Now i wanna live my  life so that when I die, the world cries and I rejoice

You should not take offense.  I was not talking about you either.  You do not whine about not having a job.  My comment was just how much Jennifer is doing to try to get a job.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
