August Adventure Monday

Our August Adventure continues...what type of adventure are you going on?  Make a plan and stick to it as closely as you can.

Yesterday started for me w/ a protein filled brunch...got it all my liquids and doses of protein...had some popcorn last night, but it didn't even taste good to me. 

Today's plan:
lots of liquids
at least 2 protein drinks
chicken for lunch w/ red beans and rice
poppyseed chicken for dinner
high protein snack
fruit if needed

What's your adventure plan for today?

Good Morning Karla,

I am getting back to what I need to be doing today. My plan for this week is to low carb to rid my body of the junk I had over the weekend. 

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown

Karla, I'm on the adventure for August; no time like now to get my butt back on track.  Today is shakes only because I do better NOT thinking about what I'm eating or planning.  I'll do 2-3 days for shakes only then back to what worked after surgery........lean meats and green leafy veggies for a couple of days, THEN I'll add fruit and such back.

I'm saying goodbye to all rice, potatoes, chips, chocolate, pretzels, bread until I get back to my goal weight.

I just joined the August adventure yesterday because I really need to get back focused on taking care of me.  I have been letting personal stuff bring out that old me, the one that uses food for comfort and avoids life.  I never want to go back there.  So my goals for August are:

1.  get back to running/walking and lifting weights at least 3 times a week

2.  get refocused on proteins first and water/tea only (no sodas, ugh!)

3.  get all vitamins/supplements in daily and on schedule

4.  figure out how to make deeper friendships so that I have people to turn to instead of food.  I find myself still keeping people at a distance and I don't know how to fix that.  I have met so many wonderful people in the past year and I love them, but I still keep a wall up.  I have no idea why.

I have all my pills in their baggies for the week.  I have my meals ready and waiting for me as well as good snacks.  Only water and tea in the house.  And I'm heading to the gym in just a couple of minutes.  Have a great day all!

Getting back on track today after a Sunday of horrible eating.  It was one of those days when I just ate all day long; nothing high in sugar or calories just too much of a good thing.  I'm paying for it today with a grouchy pouch and a generally yuckie feeling.  So it's back on track today.

Started with coffee
B - a peach, Greek yogurt and granola
S - another cup of coffee please!
L - Homemade fish chowder (peppers, onions, potatoes, celery and cod cooked in crushed tomatoes and clam juice)
S - Celery sticks with hummus
D - Ham and cheese roll ups with raw vegetables

I have temporarily dropped the protein shakes from my diet after a flare up of gout in my knee.  I'm trying hard to get my protein from real food rather than shakes.  That's what my doctor prefers.  I need to sit down today and plan my meals for the rest of the week.

Snack: Protein Shake
Dinner: Grilled Chicken Salad
Snack: Almonds
