Dr. Alexander & Dr. Stewart

I recently visited both their websites, put in the requested info for new patients seeking a consult, and emailed it to their respective clinics, stating I was interested in a consult re:   a revision (I did not mention I was a DS patient, btw).    

  It has now been over two weeks and I have not received a phone call or even a letter from either clinic to date.   

  What gives?   Are these surgeons so busy they don't even need to respond to interested prospects soliciting their services?    

Have you tried calling their offices? Some practices may just not keep a tight eye on their web site.

  Yes, I guess I'll have to try that ..   I know they say the "gatekeeper" to avoid with Dr. S. is Leah ..   She tends to be rather "obstructionist", from what I've heard (why do some docs keep people like that in their front offices?  )   He has a surgical RN that is much more "receptive" .  (I can't remember her name, though - Cathy?)  .. 

    I don't know who specifically to ask for with Dr. Alexander's offfice, though ..

 Try Dr. Barkers office in Dallas.

Just MY ever so humble opinion,of course...but putting that lil "mad face" next to their names on a message board that gets gazillions of hits (I know-I exagerate a little) probably won't help your "situation"...just sayin'...

or..maybe they somehow know you already have a DS and don't REALLY need a revision?? Who knows?? Maybe THEY are two of those afore mentioned gazillion hits ?????

Either way..if you are HONESTLY needing their attention, pick up the phone.

   It just seems so frustrating ..   When I was lining up my original surgery 3 years ago it seemed like the surgeons' offices or their concierges were practically falling all over themselves to take care of me, and this time around the surgeons almost seem indifferent when approached  ..  I would think maybe it's b'c it's more of a "seller's market" nowdays, but then I notice all the T.V. ads and even billboards locally advertising WLS, which would make one think they are hurting for biz  ..   

PAUL..thanks for changing the "mad face"..much better...Yes, I, too, would think someone would have responded to your email by now..but..I don't work for either of those docs, and do not know their protocals for answering their inquiries. Again, if you truly seek info, maybe you should just call them.

But...and I'm just being my normal nosey, nursey self here...why would a person with a full DS NEED a revision? I'm confused...Or are you just doing general research on how long it takes docs to answer internet-generated inquiry messages?

I know you've had some regain, and I'm the LAST person on Earth to EVER EVER EVER  slam someone for THAT ("Pot, Meet Kettle")...I guess I thought you COULDN'T regain with the DS...maybe I read too many message boards...

  Funny you should say that, Gina  ..   I had just responded this a.m. to a poster on the DS forum ..  She was asking if DSers ever have regain problems, since what she has "read" on OH seems to say "no" ..  I was the only member who candidly responded that yes, we can and do have regain problems sometimes ..  and pointed out that I am a member of a Yahoo DS revision forum for DSers in my situation (we currently have over 50 members, many of whom have had successful revisions, btw) 
   That was a BIG mistake (as I should have learned from past experience on there) ..      We can NEVER say anything bad about our surgery on there without getting personally attacked by some other members, even by newbies, made to feel it's "all our fault", etc.   

  Well,  < newsflash > no, it's not an infallible surgery, and it would be naive for anyone to believe that it is  ..  I think we should be honest on OH and give our various pros and cons regarding the types of WLS ..  I actually received a PM and a friend invite from the original poster later thanking me for my honesty and for answering her question candidly, despite the animosity others displayed on there to me ( and to her for even asking the question, btw  ) .. 

   As to my situation, I never did lose my last 50 or so lbs.   and have regained about 30 lbs.   So I'm sitting at a 35 BMI (MO!) now ..   I recently found out that my sleeve was cut, as was common back then, on the large side @ 6-7 oz.   Hence why I can eat so much now (assuming it has stretched a bit) ..   Nowdays DS surgeons tend to cut it more akin to the size of the RNY pouch, @ 2-3 oz. or even less .  My anticipated revision would be to cut my sleeve down to that size, and that will hopefully finally get me to goal (or at least under 200 lbs.)  ..

PAUL-thanks for explaining. I really do think you should CALL...esp Dr Stewart, as I personally have heard such positve things about him.
