Day 310
Today was a stable day. When respiratory came in this morning to suction Elizabeth they asked her to open her mouth AND SHE DID then to cough AND SHE DID! Small steps- Praise God! Since her liver and colitis are better and she had a normal stool yesterday, they started her on feeds(PediaSure) through her NG tube. Small steps-Praise God! At 4:00 a.m. every morning she gets a chest x-ray and this mornings looked the best so far. Small steps -Praise God! Yesterday Elizabeth was moving her arm and today many times she lifted it in the air. Small steps Praise God! Later this afternoon the doctor came in to say it was a good day, while we were talking he got a page that said (Elizabeth's Aspergillus antigen came back positive). Aspergillus is a very dangerous fungus. They check for this antigen weekly. She had never tested positive for this before and the amount was very high, which doesn't make much sense. We went down for an immediate CT scan of her sinuses, chest and abdomen.Fungus shows up as white spots on a CT scan. Acording to the doctor her scans looked the best they have looked in a long time. Doesn't make sense but Praise Praise Praise God!! We went ahead and started her on another anti-fungal and will retest on Monday morning. Pray last weeks test was a false positive or contaminate. Never a dull moment but so thankful for our small steps of hope.
The best news of all today was for our M7 buddy Alex. The fluid in his lungs didn't contain Leukemia and his BMA showed significantly less cancer. We prayed with and for his family all morning. This was a critical day for Alex and Jesus answered our prayers. Dax's respiratory was much better and Dax and Alex were both moved back to the transplant floor tonight. Praise God! Pray Elizabeth will soon follow. She still has high fevers and hasn't woken up much. Tomorrow is a new day filled with hope. Trusting in God! Remember all the cancer kids and baby Camille from home. KEEP PRAYIng KEEP BELIEVING!! Love, Michelle
