Sister has Stage IV cancer

I'm soliciting prayers, good thoughts, etc., for my sister, Cathy. She has a tumor on the bile ducts of the liver which is inoperable but treatable. It has spread to the lymph nodes. She will have a PET scan tomorrow to see where else it might have spread.

She was always the "skinny, healthy" sister. And she's the only sister I have. It still hasn't sunk in yet. The oncology team is meeting Tuesday night and she will hear their plan Wednesday.

I can't imagine the world without her.

Connie....I am SO VERY SORRY that this has happened to your sister.   My older sister is going to the heart doctor tomorrow.    He found something wrong with her heart last week ( she had a heart attack and 3 stints 11 months ago )....must be the month for things happening to sisters.   I will definately pray for God's healing for your sister and knowledge for the doctors to treat her.   Prayers for complete healing in her life.   Prayers for you too sweetie.  I know you will need them also.    PLease keep us updated on her condition.

Thanks Connie....she is expecting to have to have surgery.   She is praying for another stint rather than open heart surgery.   She will find out tomorrow what he can do.   She hasn't felt good since last October when her hubby of 45 yrs past away.   She was about 6 weeks post op getting her 3 stints when that happened.    I am worried about her too.   But I know God will take care of her.

Connie, I am so sorry to her about your sister.  My husband and I are both cancer survivors and cancer is such a terrible disease that turns your whole life upside down.  I pray for a good outcome for her.

Connie, I'm so sorry.  I can't imagine what you're going through.  My prayers are with you both as you face it together.

 So sorry to hear this, Connie ..  and keeping her in my prayers ..

  I have been advising anyone with advanced cancer to try to get admitted to one of the current clinical trial programs for the new experimental drugs at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, if they possibly can.   Some of those drugs are accomplishing miracles right now.  (Duke University Medical has been having similar results with brain cancers).   

  I have a friend who had a recurrence of his melanoma almost overnight and it was pretty much overwhelming his system.  He got on the new stuff at M.D. and after a few months almost all the tumors were down at least 50% in size and no new ones present.   A year later, there is almost no sign of cancer in him.    Another friend had advanced jaw and throat cancer and one hospital wanted to cut our pretty much everything in the affected areas.  He said, "no", and went to M.D. Anderson.   Last I heard the cancer had completely resolved from the use of one of the new experimental drugs, and w. only minor follow-up surgery.
