youth camp vs protein

Youth camp is next week.  I am concerned about protein.  I don't do that well at home.  I think it may be harder at camp.  What could I take that will pack?  I am now lactose intolerant as well.

VICKI-I don't travel alot..but when I do...protein bars and beek sticks/beef jerky are REAL life savers. They do not require refrigeration and have the protein I need. When at home I use protein powders, but when traveling I "splurge" and get a 4-6 pack of some type of ready to drink protein..like the EAS Chocolate, that come in the foil boxes (I buy them at WalMart). They are much better cold, but don't HAVE to be, if you won't have a fridge.

 You are a BRAVE and WONDERFUL woman to go to youth camp-KUDOS to you!!

thank you for the ideas... I did not think of the pre-packaged protein drinks... I have read that a lot of people like the Atkins RTD... I will give them a shot

jerky and beef stick sound good too

thank you again... and for the youth camp encouragment...   I plan to do the zip line--- what a difference a yr makes... huh

My son's youth group have gone to The Retreat in Glen Rose the past 2 years. the Zipline was his fave "non church" activity"..You go girl!!!

When traveling  or where i can not make my shakes I get the OH Yeah now in van, choc, banana, strawberry and cookies and cream.  there is 32 grams protein in 14 oz and I find it yummy just poured over ice and it does nto require refridgeration.  Can get this at most health food stores!
