Thursday WLS Express - Chooooo Chooooo
Good morning - it's way early but for some reason I'm awake. I think that reason may be the two bottles of water I drank after 9pm trying to play catch up from a slow liquids day LOL
Today means I only have 1-1/2 days left on this project! Had a meeting with a group of people to go over what we've done so far and of course, a million changes came out of the meeting so lots of revamping will be incorporated into the project work ... why do they always wait until the 11th hour to do these things? Grrrr
I'm so looking forward to a weekend that I don't have to run around like a crazy woman to get things done in one day. I can be a lady of leisure on Sunday for the first time in 10 weeks.
I'm sure we will be racing this weekend if the weather is dry. I haven't looked at the weekend forecast for home to see what the forecast is. Hot and dry I suspect. I think King mentioned going to Kennedale Speedway Park this weekend - it's a great facility so if anyone wants to get "redneck" and go to the dirt track races Saturday let me know.
My mother's birthday is today and our relationship is a little strained as of late. I'll make the obligatory Happy Birthday phone call while we're both at work and hopefully neither of us will have time to have cross words. Sad to feel that way about a parent, but when they become a negative force in your life, sometimes you just have to cut the strings and let them run (or ruin) their own life. I have refused to let her and her mistakes have a negative impact on mine.
Tonight I've got to pack up my personal belongings from the apartment and be ready to head home. I took half my stuff home last weekend so it shouldn't be much more than one suitcase and my computer bag to juggle tomorrow. I've somehow lost one set of keys and security fob (I left them in a rental car) and apparently Hertz doesn't have a very good lost and found, so I'll have to pony up $25 for the security fob. Oh well, it is what it is.
Have a THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY!!!
WooHoo I drove the train! I drove the train!! I wish I had a conductor hat and some overalls, I'd wear 'em today! LOL
QUE...yep..it ain't moved....but Kennedale did move up in the world a few years back..the main drag (287) is now called "Kennedale Parkway"...there was a big ceremony and everything..How did YOU miss it???...lol...My friend, Tammy, lives there and we tease her about it all the time
Disclaimer: No offense intended to anyone who lives in Kennedale!!

We Can Do Hard Things
Boy, I'm asking the question, but it's rhetorical. Why did I choose to live a life as a government employee?? I'm getting fed up with dealing with all these different government agencies and their employees with bad attitudes! You'd think they'd be happy to have jobs and would be a little bit nicer, knowing the situation out there!! I went to the VA yesterday to get my benefits started, to try to get to a doctor so I can get my knees evaluated and everything from when I was in the Air Force! I wasn't in the building 90 seconds and the receptionist was nasty to me! EXCUSE ME for not knowing your damn jargon and not knowing what the hell you were talking about!! Jeesh! When I go back today, and she asks me if she can help me, I'm going to tell her NO, I'll wait for the other lady to be free because your attitude sucks, lady!! Dayam! I don't enjoy being treated like an imbecile with no provocation whatsoever!!
Sorry, I'm ranting! It's just that I've lived my whole live dealing with government employees since I'm an Air Force BRAT, was in the AF myself, now with the USPS and having an On The Job Injury and dealing with the Department of Labor! I get that I did this to myself, but why! I'm asking the God and Goddess, WHY did I do this to myself! LOL!!
Enough *****ing!! Seems like that's all I do these days!! I'm sorry!! And now I'm spending time apologizing! LOL!!
I've started putting up inspiration quotes. I hope you like them! I think I need to read them and heed them! LOL!! I'm probably not going to do it everyday, but when I come across one that I particularly like, I'll post it!
I hope everyone has a great day!! Love you!!

Well I'm off in a bit to H-town for sis's surgery. Talked to her last night and she seemed much better mentally than the day before, I think the Xanax they gave her worked, lol.
Hope everyone has a great day, I'll be off the computer til Saturday for sure; don't have to much fun or start to much trouble.

Nice and cool here this a.m. I know it won't last for long, but I'll enjoy it while it's here. Yesterday afternoon they took Tori (16 mo. old) to the dr. for labs. She wanted to do a HCH on her since she's such a big baby. Why they didn't do this when they did all the other is just beyond me. Of course, it was awful, she's fat, strong as a bull, and determined. Took more than 4 people to hold her down. Poor baby. When SIL brought her back here to me all she wanted to do was snuggle. I just sat there holding her tight and cried for her. Bless her little heart. I requested that while they have blood that they run a blood sugar on her. She drinks excessively and that is a halmark symptom of diabetes. Just to rule it out. They said they won't have results for 2 wks. Listen people, I was a lab technician and I KNOW it doesn't take that long. Oh well, I'll be gone with the girls to La. for a week of that, so I'll just tough it out. Late yesterday was nice to work in the yard. Finished trimming my hedges in back and mulching some more. Hope to play outside with the girls a lot today. Hope everyone has a great day.
Blessings,
Carol
