Sonic addicts - I have a bizarre poop question
OK, I'm sorry, while I sometimes find my own poop entertaining, I usually don't post about it publicly, but I'm not sure if this is even possible so maybe one of the nurses can answer.
I've recently started drinking diet ocean water from Sonic somewhat regularly. It's diet Sprite with blue coconut syrup so when they make them, it comes out nearly the identical shade of blue that is my favorite color. Plus, it tastes *so* good, it's caffeine free and I can get them 1/2 off for 4 hours a day. It's nearly the perfect food.
Last week, when I was in Dallas, I'd gone to the bathroom and my bowel movement was a disturbing shade of green. I tried to figure out what I'd eaten that did that because it was something I'd never seen come out of my body before.
This has now happened 4 times in the last week and this morning I had the ephiphany that it seems to be happening mornings after diet ocean water consumption. Is it possible the blue coconut syrup is causing the color change? If it is, should I be concerned about what may be in the blue coconut syrup that it's affecting me in such a manner? I can get Torani SF coconut syrup at Cost Plus that is clear, so I have an option if the blue dye is dangerous. Or am I worrying for nothing?

I wouldnt think the blue dye is dangerous but it does make for an interesting bm. What I find amazing is when your poop comes out multi shades. Such as one end will be light color and the other end will be dark. Poop after WLS is amazing event in and of itself.
I would like to help you but you cant fix stupid.

Crazy as this sounds.. Yes it is probably the blue coconut syrup that is doing that. When my children were babies. sometimes if I gave them grape juice.. poop would be green.. The same thing with blue kool-aid. So I think that is what is causing the color change and I don't think it is harmful.
Just my two cents worth.

From personal experience, it's the food coloring.
Edit:
Interesting bit of trivia regarding some red food colorings. Some are made from insects.
