Day 299
Update 9:30 pm
Our day has been SO much better than our night. Elizabeth's stats have remained stable all day, we have continued to turn her and she is handling it well. She is still completely sedated, actually paralyzed on a paralytic. Her lungs sound much better and her oxygen settings are back down to a reasonable setting. We will talk again in the morning about giving her the Rituximab. She is still bleeding and there is still a significant amount of fluid coming out of the drain. Please pray this will stop soon. I thank you all for saying the Novena today, it was really a much better day, and please continue it if you can. I want to thank all my St. Jude friends who have asked for prayers on all their sites, you know how much it means to me! God Bless You! Please continue prayers for Alex and Dax, he arrived back here tonight, and all our cancer friends. I also found out about a little girl from Mandeville who goes to our church who was just diagnosed with AML. Her name is Camille, pray for her healing and strength and patience for her family. God be with all of us. I want to wish my dad a HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! He has been here with us all day. Elizabeth IS A FIGHTER!!Th
I have two sides to my brain - a right side and a left side. The trouble is sometimes there is nothing left in the right side and nothing right in the left side.

We Can Do Hard Things
Gina,
I understand your point about the happy face; I do!
Elizabeth is an incredible fighter. At such a young age, for me, she is demostrating that we can all FIGHT. Children are so amazing. When there is a huge mountain in front of them to climb, they don't stop to be distracted or find negatively in that small grain of sand in their shoe!
Isn't her mother amazing? Michelle has been such a dear, close friend for many years. She has ALWAYS been one of the most amazing women and mother I've had the privilege of knowing intimately. I've never heard her speak a negative word about ANYONE even if someone has severely made an offense against her. I've never heard a foul word out of her mouth. She'd do anything for anybody to help them. She's just amazing. I miss her terribly. I moved away from where we both lived after Katrina but initially I traveled back often - especically to see her and her boys and then Elizabeth. Elizabeth's conception alone was a miracle. The last time I saw both of them was when she was 8 months old and 1 month later she was diagnosed and I have not seen either one of them since! :-( Because she's always so busy, I have only been able to get a "sneak" phone call in with her maybe 5 times since. :-(
I've tried to travel to Memphis to visit and help but my own family's struggles and health issues have prevented me from being able to go. I take great confort in reading the posts and seeing how the families there latch onto each other and take care of one another.
I have no idea why I am rambling. It's difficult for me to watch from the sidelines as it is for many others. My middle daughter was very sick after her birth and we spent one month in children's hospital and then 5 years in medical care, tests, checks, etc. While I have that experience, I know that what Michelle is going through with Elizabeth is a zillion to infinity and beyond what I experienced and I can't imaine what she is going through. Her faith is unwavering so I do know that no matter the cir****tance, Michelle is making the best out of everything and she is loving, helpful to others, and even laughing. She's making the best out of everything she encounters.
She's a true inspiration. I miss her terribly. Did I say that already? It's hard not to be close or to travel to help her. *sigh*
Rambling. Rambling. Rambling.
Thank you, Gina, and all others who have prayed for Elizabeth Grace! :-)
