Hello All!

I have a consult with Dr. Castro @ Methodist Hospital here in Dallas, and I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with him and his staff??

Thanks

Hi :)
Dr Castro did my RNY in May. I did my three months medically supervised diet, post-op class and psych evaluation all at his office. I've been very happy with him and his staff, so much so that my husband is planning on having an RNY with Dr Castro this fall.
We have found Dr Castro to be approachable and confident. He really put my husband at ease the day of my surgery. On my post-op visits I have seen John one of the PA's there and I just love him. I had a stricture early out and he was wonderful, returning my calls and making sure I got into a gastrologist that had the experience to take good care of my pouch. I always feel like he has time to talk to me.
I was also impressed that the lady who checked me in at the hospital was planing on having surgery this summer with Dr Castro. I've worked in a hospital before and to me what doctor the staff goes to says a lot.
I hope this helps. Best of luck on your journey.

Hello,

Dr. Castro is doing my follow up care.  I had VSG surgery in Mexico with Dr. Aceves in March.  Many doctors will not accept Mexico patients.  I met with him and he was AWESOME.  He was so thorough.  He looked over my medical records and xrays Dr. Aceves sent me with.  I was so surprised with how long he spent with me.  I started with a lower BMI and he commended me with jumping on top of my weight while I was young (I'm 25) and before it led to major health issues.

He has new staff members, so they are still trying to get everything down.  But they are really nice.

Thank you!  This wil be my second consult, my first was with another dr. that kinda made me feel like a number instead of a person.  The thorough part is def a plus with me. I mean it's a major life change thorough goes a long way. I'm looking forward to my consult with Dr.Castro on the 27th.  Thanks again.

Let me know how it goes.  Do you know what type of surgery you are having or want to have?  Feel free to PM is you like.

Dr. Castro did my re-vision a year ago.
He was very through and wanted to make sure
I understood what I was doing. I have
have some 'bumps' in the road and he has
been wonderful. I have complete confidence
in him and his staff.

VSG on 09/02/08 with
I'm another one who had surgery in Mexico.  I saw Dr. Castro one month post-op and have had several checkups and labs since then.
He spent quite a bit of time pouring over my history.  He's very compassionate and kind.  I was fearful that I would get reprimanded for going to Mexico!  He didn't go there at all.  I've since met with a nurse or two and they are all top shelf.  Regarding the office, sometimes it's a challenge getting called back in a timely manner.  I'll gladly put up with all of that to be a patient of his!

Good luck with your journey!
