Where do you go for your online vitamin purchases
I buy my Bariatric Advantage vitamins from bariaticeating, com. They are fast and reliable. I buy the chewable iron. I also have a low iron level.....quite low. I also had the constipation issue. My doctor told me to take colace. I take the generic...3 capsules every evening. When that didn't totally correct the problem she told be to take miralax every morning. I thought I would have a problem taking the Miralax because I have a picky paelate (sp?) I found the miralax to be totally tasteless, non gritty, and easy to get down. I mix it in crystal lite, it disolves completely and that combined with the colace generic has taken care of the problem. I tried taking a liquid iron and it wasn't very pleasant. Not that the chewables are either but they are better to my tastebuds than the liquid.
I presume you doctor told you to take vitamin C with the iron if it does not contain it. You need C to help the body absorb the iron. Also don't take iron within 2 hours of calcium. The calcium will bind the iron and you will not absorb it. It has been mentioned here ad nauseum but if you have not heard and have not had yours checked please check your vitamin D and B12. Most of us commonly check our B12 but not many of us knew to check D. I now know to stay on top of all my supplements. I take them religiously every day.
Good luck

I have been really good with everything but the iron. I have gone as long as 10-12 days without a BM when I take iron. Nothing seems to help with the constipation. My surgeon finally gave me a RX that helped. So I keep it when I need it. This liquid iron isn't suppose to consitpate you or at least that is what is said.
