Okay...some of us are in control, some of us are letting CARBS take control.  I'm getting down to business and I'm going to be back in control.  Sticking to high protein, low carb and EXERCISING!

I turn 50 on October 26, and I plan on taking off some lbs. and gaining more control.  I'm fairly good at maintaining, so with some effort, I can take this off and then keep it off!

Today's plan:
at least 110 oz. of liquids
3 protein drinks: 1 protein coffee, 1 protein shake, 1 Atkins drink
salad w/ turkey and cheese for lunch w/ homemade low fat ranch
beef fajita meat and pinto beans for dinner
protein balls or cottage cheese for snack at night if needed

and EXERCISE: I WILL ride my bike today!

What's your plan?

Okay...Faith through out August Adventure...I like that a lot too!  do we want August Adventure or August Accoutability?  I like that August Adventure is different than what we've done before...what do ya'll think?

Too funny, I posted at the exact time you did so I deleted mine.  I was hoping you were sleeping in this morning.  I like "August Adventure" cuz it's different.

My weekend was pretty good.  I started yesterday with 3 oz of sirloin steak and a bagel with peanut butter.  Wierd combination but I swear I wasn't hungry the rest of the day.  I ate that at 8 am and didn't eat lunch until 2 pm.  My choices might not of been the best but the quantity was really good for me.  For lunch I had 3 oz chicken parmesan and 3 bites of spaghetti and was stuffed.  Dinner at 8 pm was 3 oz of chicken friend steak and 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes.  At 10 last night I had 1/4 cup fresh fruit with SF fruit dip.

Luckily the scale dropped another 1/2 lb.  So now I'm squarely back in the middle of my range.  My preferred range is 154 (my all time lowest) to 159.  The day after the BBQ I was 160.2 but today I'm at 157.4.   I wish the "not hungries" would continue but I know it was just a fluke.  Anyway, gonna make out my shopping list and head to Walmart in a bit.  Need to stay away from the candy aisle!!

Vits in, walk in, protein in and posting.  Haven't posted much but have been sticking to the plan.  I am 5 days away from my 1 year anniversary and the weight is really slowing down.  Would love to lose this last 4 lbs before Thursday as I go see Dr. Bonnor then.

I am going camping this weekend with hubby and will make my 1 year post on Thursday after I see Dr.

I like August Adventure too!

Hope everyone survives their Monday!!

Good Morning Karla & my favorite TMB!

I know how you feel Karla about gaining the control of the carbs.  We can do this!

I had a great weekend.  The scales were at 192.2 yesterday but I knew the carbs from the ice cream and the drink from Saturday would have to show up sooner or later and they did this morning. I weighed in at 194.8.  I should have just stuck with eating my low carb meal but it was a time to celebrate.  I resumed low carbing yesterday and got in my 64 ounces of water so I know that these 2.6 pounds will disappear by Wednesday/Thursday.

My plan for the week is to low carb, drink lots of water and to resume my walking routine.  I can not hardly wait to see 189 on my scales.

My vote is for August Adventure since we will have just completed our July Journeys.  I am so determined to get to my goal and this has been an adventure for me.  Have a great day everyone.

Today's plan is:

B-Coffee
L-Smoked ribs, green beans
D-Salad-lettuce, tomato & cheese with ranch dressing

Okay...August Adventure it is...I think that's a great one.  Sounds like everybody has a good plan.  I'm going to go make my low fat ranch dressing, some chicken broth to drink (morning ritual for me) and protein balls in a few minutes so it will be done before I start painting.

I didn't eat necessarily good stuff yesterday, okay, in reality had protein drinks during morning...that was good and on the plan.  For lunch at 2:00 I had 1 tamale, plain, and some trail mix (pnuts, raisins, dark M & M's)  ... dinner was fried flounder and shrimp and 2 ff's...cooked for my husband's birthday which is today.  He's 57!  I ate 5-6 shrimp and a few bites of fish.  After that, I had a little sf, ff homemade ice cream and a small piece of cherry pie.  Had more trail mix during night.    I hear Steph saying...put the trail mix in 1/4 cups in bags and don't eat more than that...hear it, and need to DO It!

At least today is no birthday eating and a great PLAN...

Karla

I just use the ranch dressing mix...I buy the big container of it at Sam's Club or you can use packets...for 16 oz. it's 3 TBSP. of ranch dressing mix, 1 c low fat mayo and 1 c skim milk.  Just mix with whisk and put in fridge for a few hours.  It's a lot tastier than the low fat you buy and way better than the FF...I don't do FF stuff, I'd generally rather do w/o other than FF half n half.

It's a lot lower in calories and fat than real bottled ranch dressing.

Thank you Karla.  I don't think I eat enough salad.  I usually go for the blue cheese as there is no sugar  and I figure the amount I am eating, I don't worry about the fat.  But sometimes I just don't do well with salad.  Need to change up the menue a bit.

Thanks again.  I will try this. Oh, have you ever tried making it with yogurt?

Litehouse makes a really good Lite Ranch.  It's in the refrigerated section at Tom Thumb and Super Target.  Some Walmart's also carry it but of course mine doesn't.

Stats for 2 T:
Calories: 60
Fat: 6g
Carbs: 3
Sugar:2
Protein: 1

I will try this as well.  As I told Karla I don't do a lot of salads cause sometimes they don't sit too good.  But need to change up the menu a bit.

Thanks for the info!!!
