(Almost) 6 wk update! - xpost
I am feeling great. I actually don't feel like I've had anything done. I've lost about 23lb and I have just barely made it to onederland.
The first few weeks, I struggled with hunger, but now I have to remember to eat. I have hit the wall with my protien shakes, so I am trying to figure out a new way to get in my protien without gagging. I have not had a problem eating anything! I am so thankful for that. It is exactly what I wanted...to be able to eat the same things, just less. The surgery has NOT taken away my love of cooking or having friends over for dinner. My friends and I have resumed our weekly dinners and I am enjoying them more than ever.
The only issue that I am having is that I have just been exhausted for the past wk or two. It has been hot and I haven't been getting my vitamins in regularly, so I am sure that is a big part of it.
I have not been tracking my calories and I don't plan on doing that unless I get to a point where I have to. I tend to becomes very obsessed when I do that and it kind of goes downhill after that. I do keep a rough count of my protien intake, but that is about all. I totally quit tracking water intake because I was easily getting in all my water within a week or two of surgery. I have always drank lots of water, so this has never been an issue.
I am STILL fighting my rash that came up a week or so after surgery. I've been through two courses of prednisone and it seems like it is fineally slowly going away. I did find out it was because they used a pennicilian based antibiotic at the hospital even though I told them a million times that I was extremely allergic to it...they are lucky nothing worse happened.
All in all, I am sooooo happy that I had surgery!

Hi girl -- I am so pleased to read a good report from you! And welcome to Onederland, a beautiful place to be. Expensive, shopping-wise, but beautiful!
I wish I had something intelligent to say about the fatigue and the rash, but I don't. Ask me about hair loss and that is where I can do some commiserating. I am the same way you are re: counting protein grams (sorta) and calories (no way). Doesn't seem to be holding me back.
I keep looking for you and puppy round the 'hood. Someday I am going to spot you!
