Steph's Trash Recipe
Since my trash mix disappeared at the party, I thought I would post the recipe. This is NOT Sugarfree but it is LOW FAT so the calories come out to about 100cal/cup. It's a great munchie snack for those that don't dump.
Cover 4 cookie sheets with aluminum foil and spray with PAM. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
4 bags fat free microwave popcorn
1/2 box Corn Pops cereal
1/2 box Crispix cereal
1/2 bag pretzel sticks broken into smaller pieces
2 cups brown sugar (haven't tried the Splenda BS but I bet it would work)
1 cup Butter Buds liquid (reconstitute from the packets or sprinkles)
1/2 cup white corn syrup
Bring the above mixture to a boil (in a medium saucepan), stirring constantly and boil for 2-3 minutes. It will FOAM so be careful to watch it closely. Remove from heat and add 1/2 tsp of baking soda and stir. It will foam some more. Pour mixture over the above cereal/popcorn mixture until lightly coated and spread on cookie sheets in a single layer.
Bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes, remove from oven and allow to cool. When hardened break into bite sized pieces and store in ziplocs or plastic air tight containers. This keeps for weeks. Makes a WHOLE LOT. (Like a turkey roasting pan full).
**to reconstitute Butter Buds Sprinkles: Mix 1 cup of HO****er with 5 T of sprinkles.**
