Just went to the Bell website.....gee.....the union and Bell still have not resolved the issues !!!!   I am TIRED of this crap !!!!   My hubby needs to get back to work.    If he doesn't soon....I am not sure how we will pay our bills !!!   Darn it !!!!   I was so sure they would end the strike !!!!   Please pray with me and the other Bell families affected by this strike that it will end soon.   Monday starts week "5" and we have only gotten paid for 2 of the 4 weeks....and if you know prices of food, gas, car payments and bills.....$200 a week doesn't help that much and we are a "one income family " !!!!!

Prayers Vivian for you and the family. I know that it hard, and I am sorry. I can remember when Braniff Airlines went bankrupt. It was not fun, and I was just a teenager then.
See ya tomm.

Vivian,

Texas is a right to work state, why isn't your husband crossing the strike and returning to work?

Hi Mikey.....trust me....if this crap continues much longer he will have to cross and go on to work.   This is so very stressful on ME !!!!   I truely believe that he is enjoying the time off from work....other than the 4 hours out in the blazing heat walking and holding the picket sign !!!!   He doesn't want the other workers to loose respect for him ( I truely think that is why he hasn't crossed the line yet ).   I bet that they all will cross it if it continues much longer.

Thanks so much Deborah.....I know that God will provide but still it is so frustrating.   Hubby may just have to cross the pickett line whether he wants to or not.

Sounds to me like there are a couple of options:

1.  Cross the picket line
2.  Find another job
3.  Become a two income household

With millions of people out of work INVOLUNTARILY, I just cannot fathom being afraid of some signs on a stick, especially with Texas being a right to work state.  My first husband was "union", never did a damn thing for us except cost money in the end when they wanted to strike.

Jodie....that is what I am thinking too.   It has cost us ALL our checking account....half our savings and he just cashed in some stocks.   UGH.....and He DIDN'T even vote FOR the strike in the first place !!!!   I told him.....I think he needs to cross that darn pickett line.    After all....our son will start college in a  month or so and we ALL know how expensive college is.    I think it would be darn near impossible for me to find a job right now.   I haven't worked in over 28 yrs.    Hard enough for people that have just been laid off to find work...much less a housewife looking for work.

Housewife?  I thought you were / are a hairdresser?  There are many opportunities for hairdressers "off the beaten path" ... nursing homes for one - the pay not be good, but it would be something to look into and as much as you like to help people, that would be right up your alley and you could probably set you own hours.

Vote or no vote - it's his CHOICE to not cross the picket line.  When does it become too late?  There's nothing that says Bell will ever settle the strike and with millions of people of unemployed, they would have no problem filling any openings - just a thought.  Cross and stay employed, continue to picket then go stand in line with all the other unemployed individuals who didn't have a choice.
