Ulcer Question
Was wondering from those of yall that have been diagnosed with an ulcer what the symptoms were? For the past few weeks almost everything I eat except for (oatmeal, cereal and toast). makes my stomach hurt and I feel nauseous. I'm going to cook a pot of beans today to try and get more protein in see how that does. I'm a little over two years out and have not had any problems with food until now. hmmmm?

Thought it was gall bladder but it's what my child calls a "marginal ulcer" - common in about 10-20% of WLS patients.

Lynnette, call your surgeon and get scoped....those foods you speak of are often recommended for people with ulcers and since that works for you it's a possibility of what you are feeling.
Dry beans should be ok, along with potatoes (not the best but it's good for ulcers). Actually stay away from high fat (peanuts, fried foods, butter, etc) and spicy foods, caffiene, acidic foods (vinegar, tomatoes, citruis fruit)

I rarely eat anything fried and don't eat nuts. But I still drink coffee but have cut it in half. I make two cups in the morning and than wash the coffee pot. Except the other night had a cup late at night. I think I will stay on a bland diet for a while and see what happens. Even the one glass of wine I had last Friday night at Pete's made my stomach hurt. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
