Six Weeks Ago Today.....

I had surgery six weeks ago today and boy what a difference six weeks makes. I'm down 35 lbs and have lost 18 inches all over.
I went to see my wonderful Dr. (Dr. Garth Davis) last week and he seemed to be pretty pleased with my progress.
I'm getting in my water and protein. The only thing I'm having a problem with is that I'm never hungry so I have to remind myself you have to eat. Which I do. I have made myself a schedule and do my best to stick to it everyday so I get in my Vit's, Water and Food.
Who in world would have every thought I would not be hungry and have to remind myself to eat? I just love the new me.

Congratulations Cindy, isn't it strange how food just doesn't seem to be the most important thing in your life now.  I remember those days well, just and FYI food can become an issue again when hunger returns so LEARN, LEARN, LEARN how to deal with food and emotions NOW.

This is one of the best tips I've read all day.  I'm 9 months post op, 3 lbs from goal, and still struggling w/ emotional eating.  To me, this is the hardest part of my weight loss journey.

So.....how do you LEARN, LEARN, LEARN to deal/cope ????

Lisa, it's to find those triggers that cause the emotions.  I don't have all the answers, that's for sure.  I do try to realize why and sometimes I can stop the eating others times my crazy mind just doesn't cooperate.

A book I bought and started reading is The Beck Diet Solution.  I need to get back to it (reading for fun right now) because several things in the first couple of chapter**** home and made me go "wow someone else get's it".

You might look into this book and see how it works for you.

Way to rock that weight loss!!  Man I miss those days of not being hungry but even at 2 years out, I still can't eat as much as before surgery.  So when are we going to get to see a picture of our new "butterfly"?

This is such an exciting time for you.  I can totally relate to your excitement.  Don't worry so much about "feeling" hungry, just do what you need to do. You're doing GREAT!
