Good evening all.  Nice day today.  A little warm, but it will all be alright.

Got up a little early today.  Not what I needed to do, but we had to get Mary to son's house.  Then I came on into work 15 minutes early.  Heck, I get paid for it, so why not?

Prayer requests are listed below.

Also, please feel free to just visit here.  Tell us about how your day went.  Your successes.  Your failures.  Your fun.  Whatever.  When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

Evenin' George!
Nice day up here today until about 4:00 when it started raining.  The rain didn't last too long but the temps dropped from about 88 down to a cool 68 in a matter of no time.  Now it's a bit windy but no matter!!!  The girls ended up having to finish their tennis session up on the indoor courts.

Took mom to Best Buy while the girls were at tennis so she could find another TV.  They had an old analog one that wouldn't work after the digital switch so they brought it down to our house (since cable automatically does the conversion but they live out in the country and don't have cable).  Mom picked one out and dad went to go get it.  He's trying to get it all installed now.  Of course, dad is old school...."directions, who needs directions"....so it has been a bit drama filled.  I finally put down my laptop and got out the instructions and sure enough, he wasn't doing something right!  He has gotten a bit short-tempered as he's gotten older so when things don't go as he wants, he gets irked.  I just told the girls to steer clear and stay out in the other room and whatever they do, don't ask him, "are you done yet"!  YIKES!!!  He quite possibly could morf into something ugly if they do that!

I'd better go give him a hand so I'll check in a bit later!

I am trying to think when was the last time I saw you post this early.  Nice to see ya.

It is good that you understand that is the way your father is and you ain't gonna change him.  Just roll with the punches.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Yeah, normally we're out and about a second time so by the time I get home, get Sarah in the shower, help mom with dinner, etc. I have to wait until much later to jump on the computer.

Oh yeah, dad isn't gonna change, that's for sure!!!  He just gets crabbier as the years progress.  Like you say, you just know that's him and steer clear and let him cool off when he gets like that!  I just have to work super hard on keeping the girls out of his way.  Little things like a couple of them "playing" which of course causes elevated sounds coming out of their mouths, etc. really get him all rowled up.

The TV pretty much set itself.  Now gotta go clean some corn that he got fresh picked somewhere around here....

Be back on a bit later.

Sheesh! What a day!

My head is starting to spin trying to keep track of all the interviews, contacts and what I need to accomplish on which day. Gah!

Yesterday was so frustrating, I called our realtor this morning and asked to postpone our meeting that was supposed to be this afternoon until tomorrow. There was no way I was going to have the mess I'd made yesterday cleaned up by 1pm. She's now coming tomorrow at 1pm.

After rescheduling her, I felt like I could breathe again so I jumped back into my closet. I got rid of a lot more stuff than I'd planned. Lots of clothes and 37 pairs of shoes. I organized my business suits and made sure I know which ones I'm packing for next week's tour of interviews.

Every time I took a break, I either had a voicemail or an email from a perspective employer. Getting a Dallas phone number seems to have made a big difference in the responses I'm getting from my resume. I applied for one new job today, had one phone interview that then had me take an online personality assessment and called back to schedule a second interview, and got an email from a company I'd sent my resume to yesterday that they wanted to do a phone interview tomorrow or Thursday so I've been going back and forth with them.

I've spent the afternoon packing boxes, itemizing all of the Goodwill donations for our taxes and loading my car. I was going to go tonight, but I still need to report to TWC this week and there's a Goodwill on the way home from TWC. I figured I'd save gas and time and combine a trip in the morning.

My tragedy of the day is my washing machine broke. I put a load of towels in and my laundry room and the carpet outside of it flooded when I turned the water on. I shop-vac'ed the carpet, but it's still damp. I put a fan on it and hope it dries before the realtor gets here tomorrow. The earliest service call I could get is Thursday afternoon. I'm not really sure what to do with soapy, wet towels in the meantime...I guess I should probably find a laundromat.

Tomorrow is going to be a jam packed day. TWC, bank and Goodwill early, come back and finish getting ready for the realtor meeting, realtor meeting, and then I'm getting my hair cut and need to go sell books at 1/2 Price. My aunt, uncle, cousin and cousin's 3 kids are in town, too. I'm supposed to have dinner with them either tomorrow or Thursday. Not sure when, yet.

Well, I'm going to go make a Sonic run for 2nd Happy Hour and pick up the mail. I haven't left the house enough to even get to the mailbox since Sunday. For how busy tomorrow will be, it will be nice to have a reason to get dressed and put an effort into my appearance.

I'll check in throughout the night. Have a good evening. Prayers for all who need them.

Blessings, Jennifer

You seem to be working harder now than when you were employed.  You need to get a job so you can rest.

You may be joking, but I'm nervous. I'd told Michael this morning that I was taking the week of 7/20 and doing absolutely nothing that wasn't required by the state of Texas. My biggest effort for the entire week would be going to the pool at the club.

Then, one of the companies I'm interviewing with next Wednesday told me if I get the job, I have to start on 7/20. Michael's in Atlanta that week. The job is in North Richland Hills. I called my mom in New Mexico to make sure she and my step-dad would be back in SA to take the dogs for the week if I get the job because Murphy's Law is that because I planned to take a week to just veg out and relax after 2 months of getting the house prepped to sell, I'll get a job and be working that week.
